Default Where's the love for the Odyssey 2?

Since I've been here, I don't think I've ever seen a single thread talking about the Odyssey 2, Videopac, Odyssey 3, etc...

Come on, people... I loved my Odyssey2! It's had the best damn Pac-man style game on the market, until the 5200 version came out, and even it sucked! The O2 gave us the first 'epic' RPG (Quest for the Rings), It may have been technologially inferior to the Atari 2600, but it was till a kick ass machine!! I still love playing UFO and Pick Axe Pete!

    Where's the love people!!??

I just finished an A/V mod and Controller Mod on my Odyssey 2.

I can now use Atari controllers on it which is sweet, and A/V hookup is so much more easy. The only problem is the color quality sometimes fades in and out.

I only own 5 games but I think it's a pretty cool console. ah holy crap it's the lightest system i've ever held!

I should take pics of my mods.

There have been plenty of "love for the O2" threads here over the years, somehow you just managed to miss them.

Great console, great games, and The Voice! Nuff said.

@Truffle - I have one for sale with a bunch of games, PM me with offer if interested.
Selling collection, Atari through XBox. Send a PM with whatever games you're looking for.

I have a complete CIB set of games, and I know a few other people on DP have full sets as well.....so, there is O^2 love on DP, it just doesn't get as much love as some of the more popular systems...

I've only recently gotten one. Several, actually. I've already gotten about 10 games for it - and spent a night playing them all...

But, even better - I got to meet one of the creators! I got him to autograph one of my broken ones:

    Need. More. Games.

If you want to see love for the O2, check out Packrat Video Games at www.packratvg.com. We manufacture and sell O2 homebrews and lots of cool O2 merchandise. I grew up with the O2 and love it to this day.

    I'm totally diggin' the Baer-signed O2.

I love the O2 with the white-hot passion of ten million suns. My first favorite game system - the first one I picked out as my favorite over others that I had played - and I suspect that it will remain that way until either the machine rusts to bits or I do.

Oh, and do try out some of the new games being made for the O2 by Packrat there. It's like falling in love all over again.

Beleive me, Ive got the love for the good old O^2, the only collection I have where all my games are complete!

What I dont get is how nobody gives credit to "Cosmic Conflict!" its a really great game that didnt let the technological limitations stop it from being all it could be!

    Great system!

And yes, all those exclamation points were a wildly realistic homage!

Holy crap, I loved Cosmic Conflict! I also think people don't give enough respect to "Alien Invaders - Plus!". It was an interesting twist on the Space Invaders theme.

Cosmic Conflict is EVEN BETTER with the trackball. It's a whole different game.

Of course, then again, so it K.C. Munchkin, though K.C. Munchkin + trackball = K.C. Munchkin Drunk Goggles Edition.

I love that silver box. I had a number of games for it I really enjoyed, including several of the new, excellent homebrews...but the best came earlier this year, when I got a shitload of boxed games from a coworker, and found the two imagic games at a yardsale for a buck.

So, having played a good chunk of the O2 library now, there are a few dogs, naturally, but the games that are fun are definitely worth the small amount of green the system costs.

    Update!!

I was able to fix the broken one mentioned above (with Ralph's autograph). So, now I have a boxed, fully working, autographed O2!

I still have my O2 with dozens of boxed games in mint condition. I also have Quest for the Rings in mint condition. All of the game pieces are still in plastic baggies, never opened. I don't think this game I found at the Salvation Army was ever played. It has been a while since I have played it though. Yeah, with what was said above. I am affraid if I ever drop the system, it will not fall to the ground but float away! This system is light as a feather.
