Xboxes are crashing. Is yours next?
All my meseta if you can guess what CMTZ stands for.
Im not going to worry it realy just looks like a few incidents.
That's a heck of a descriptive title:
No 360 for me, but do remember that it's a MS product. It's supposed to crash. That's how you know it's authentic.
Honestly, Cmtz, you're getting worse.
This seems like a production error since it only happend on a few consoles. If it was some bad code by MS all consoles would have the same problem.
Hehe reminds me of the PS2 launch. Watch on the news and people was crazy just to get their hands on the PS2. Happend in France if I rember right.
Well mine is working fine and that's all i care about. It's standing on it's side and it's not scratching anything. It's not crashing and while it is getting hot, it's certainly not over heating.
When i had my 360 standing vertically i actualy did see some very very small scratches after about 16 hours of spinning. But other then that my system is solid.
You had your xbox360 on for 16 hours straight?Originally Posted by Johnny_Rock

Oh my lord.....systems failures at launch? The world has ushered in a new age of madness.
Never buy a system at launch- my #1 rule
wait AT LEAST 6 months after launch for bugs to be worked out.
Also I dont give a shit how anyone tries to explain it away the Microsoft launched this console with MANY BUGS and has convinced me to wait for the PS3/Revolution.
There shouldNT be the large amounts of overheating or MELTING POWERBRICKS and YOUR CONSOLE SHOULD NOT FREAKING SCRATCH A DISC AT ALL! Wether it be PS2/Xbox 1 or XBOX360.
Of course in a perfect world all disc-based consoles would be built as solidly as the Gamecube wich in turn was designed and built by IBM FOR Nintendo.
I seem to remember hearing about some faulty NES systems when they launched. I wonder what stopped the class action suit then?
What about faulty blenders, toys, pens, desks, printers.....gosh, i smell a conspiracy!
Maybe the dude was pissed he had to spend $1500 on Ebay to get one for his kid.
Possibility is infinity! You must be satisfied!

I've had mine on for at least that long, and have no problems what so ever. Nothing. Maybe I'm just lucky, but I'm sure its not as bad as people are thinking. MS has said 3% are defective, and that they'll personally replace your defective 360 free of charge in 5 to 7 days.Originally Posted by jajaja
And is it just me, or is anyone elses 360 not getting as hot as it used to? When I first recieved my 360 the discs and console used to be really really warm. Scary warm. But now they're just warm. I don't worry about its life expectancy now, since it doesn't seem to be getting so hot.
That is one of the advantages of living in Europe. In the past, we've waited months and months for consoles, and I'd be confident in buying at launch. Not now, not with a 360 launch within weeks of its launch Stateside.Originally Posted by sabre2922
I don't remember PS1 or PS2 crashing at launch. MS is just known for it. I remember when they were trying to demo Forza at a convention and they got the blue screen of death. But I never get a console at launch just because they will have bugs, 2nd or 3rd wave is perfect.Originally Posted by exit

I remeber my luanch day PS2 would scratch the hell out of disc when standing up. I had to ship it back to them and they repaired it. Sure the cd tray makes a grinding noise when it loads now, but hey..... No more scratched disc :/
As Hellvin said, you can expect some faults at any systems launch. Thats kind of why I would never buy a new car model the first year it came it came out. You wait a year and then buy it so the bugs have been worked out

You will not be forgotten.
The Launch PlayStations had some serious issues with heat. They'd overheat and poop out, but then again the designers wernt expecting them to be on for the amount of time people were pushing them.
Launch Xbox's (and well later) had crappy disc drives (Thompsons). PSP's, DS's, GBA's and GBAsp's all had dead pixel issues.

MS never said there was a shortage of X360's. They were playing the field and were hoping that they could get a fire under people who really wanted them (as well as the general population) and short released the system and make it the gift to have for Xmas this year. Theres plenty of units built with tons more on the way. They air shipped the first ones, while more follow on boats, the air method gets them here fast, BUT its really expensive, and Boat is really cheap, but can take a month to get here. Sony had the same problem when they launched the Slim PSTwos last year.
Because it makes no attempt to be great, it is therefore extremely great.
