They still have close to 200 systems.
They still have close to 200 systems.
And like that *snap*, 3 Bestbuy employees were trampled to death.
Man, how the hell did they come up with 200 "extra" systems. Out here on the east coast, all the stores I heard of where getting between like 4-12 systems total...
PSN: SouthRox
The Zero Hour party was held their, so Microsoft sent a lot of systems. They had about two thousand total.
I sure wish I could get my hands on one. If anyone is willing to maybe pick one up for me, I would be happy to buy it and pay for shipping. I would forever be in your debt.
...fucking west coast.
I picked up RE4 for PS2 yesterday at a local Hasting here in far north Texas and they had ONE Xbox360 core system and a bunch of 360 games I was kinda surprised but then again the Xbox never really caught on in my area everyone has Playstations and PS2s.
Few updates that should be noted:
This particular Best Buy had 15 XBOX 360 systems when the store opened at 5AM this morning, not the 200 as claimed earlier. Also, they said they "might" get another shipment today, but that was not definite. There were already lines forming after the first 15 sold out at 5:05 A.M.
Also, if anyone expects people to drive to Palmdale, please keep in mind this is NOT a suburb of LA, it is in the middle of freaking nowhere and takes an hour to get to JUST from the San Fernando Valley, and that is pretty far north of LA to begin with.
Well the 200 systems were available about 2 hrs before my post. I still need to call my cousin to see if he got me my extra console. Oh and yeah Palmdale is in the middle of nowhere, next to Lancaster.
Oh yeah and when they previously "sold out" they were just saving some for today.
It makes sense for extra Xbox 360's to be at Palmdale or Lancaster, thats where Zero Hour was and there were plenty of left over 360s. Microsoft had 1 premium package per person, but not everyone bought one or even was around at 9PM when they launched the system.
Plus it was Best Buy that sold the 360s to people, so where else would the left over systems go?
Slipdeath, you posted on Thanksgiving, Best Buy was open?
No, but the reports were from the last stock check before thanksgiving, even before the store closed. So maybe those 185 systems were sold in that time.
I called that Best Buy the day of launch and they said they originally had 800 systems and sold out in the first two hours. They said they would be getting more for Friday (today) but they did not say how many. No other Best Buy around here had any xboxes that I know of.
And yeah, Palmdale is pretty much the desert. The one thing I can say about it is the houses are cheaper than here in the Valley.
Viva la raza, y los putos que quieran pedo, que se metan el pinche dedo.
I drive past that Best Buy to go visit my parents and old hometown. (untill the Krispy Kreme closed down, I stopped there too.) While the houses are cheaper, the high desert just... *does* something to you after several years.
But I'm not suprised that would end up being the BB to end up with a surplus.
Lick me! LICK ME!!

Well, that stock check was outdated, that's all I know. Most of the stores that I know of have way different stock than they report, even with the case of EBGAMES and GameStop madness as well.
Palmdale's houses may be cheaper than the SFV, but it's still overpriced, like the entire state of CA. It's better to rent than own here after seeing the cost of insurance hikes, and repairs to the shitty quality of homes in CA.
