Mine lasts roughly 15 hours, which I believe is what the manual says. I think it gets like 600 charges (maybe 60? Something with a 6...) before you need to replace the battery. Honestly though, I've owned it since March, and the battery life is so good I've only had to charge it about 4 times. That might be because I don't play it in long sittings, but still...it's a decent battery.

12-15 for me. I imagine it's slightly less if you're using the Wi-Fi as it draws extra power.

12 hours, backlit, playing Nintendo DS games.

500 charges before it starts wearing out (or, in other words, 6,000 hours), you could probably go up to 1500 charges before it dies. It's just that after 500 you'll probably be seeing it charge to half capacity.

Man, that's pretty decent. My PSP gets just under 6 hours on a full charge. I use my handhelds as if they were consoles, playing them for hours at a time.

Hmm. I think I'll need to time myself, but I don't think I've lasted anywhere near 12 hours on DS. I think it depends on whether you're playing old GBA games, or playing online. My experience with DS has a battery life of 6-8 hours. I've had to recharge the handheld at least once every other day, especially once Mario Kart was released.

I'd like to know how long the system will stay in sleep mode and not go dead. I've used the DS as an alarm more than once, had it go dead on me one time before the morning. On a full charge it lasts long enough it seems, but who ever has a fully charged DS? hehe.

Yeah, I agree with that. Mario Kart is always going to drain a little more battery than, say, Zoo Keeper. That said, the DS still performs very well!

I think I also read in my manual that you can only get fifty charges before you should/ have to replace the battery... anyone know if this is true?

My psp battery lasts just under 4 hours. Are you using the new battery pack which stores 20% more power?

I've had to recharge my DS like, four times in the past two weeks because I have been playing it for hours on end.

8-10 hours here on mine, seems to fly when you're playing Nintendogs and Mario Kart!

I'm not hitting the numbers you all are. I'm wondering if I'm killing the system because I will leave it plugged in for extended periods of time sometimes(just sit it on the bookself and forget about it) I'm seeming to get only 6-10 hours of play time out of it, maybe mario kart has something to do with it but I'm not playing it with WiFi unless its always looking for a connection. It's also an asian DS as well (spiffy black color) if that could effect it.

I don't know how many hours but I play my DS rather casually so it always lasts long when i decide to play for a while.

I forget how much time i get on my DS before i have to recharge it. However the last time i charged it, It was probably over a month ago. Maybe even Two Months ago.

I have a question: When the battery for my DS dies, Where am i supposed to buy a new battery for it? Radioshack?

Mine lasts 3 hours and 45 minutes at the most...how is this guy getting 6 hours? That's not 20% more...that's 50% more.

It's pretty sad when laptops can last longer than handhelds.

It all depends oh what your doing, how bright the screen is, whether Wi-Fi is turn on or off and whether or not you're playing movies.

Here's IGNorrant's evaluation of the PSP battery life.

I think there are some unofficial and official batteries suitable for the Nintendo DS. I'm sure you can buy an official one direct from Nintendo, though. They are about, I see them from time to time!
