Default New Famicom Cheat device-Xterminator Classic

    http://gamebank.jp/image/432332.jpg

Any shops selling this? I don't think I could begin to navigate this stores site...something tells me they only sell bulk, but I'm not sure...

You can do slomo, save and load games (possibly save states and save files ala battery saves like), and use cheat codes (w/ on/off switch). It's similar to Bung devices of ages ago, but with cheat codes possible, which I don't think any of those devices had.

Also, it can use PAR codes. Was there a Japanese PAR? I never heard of that...

    Actually, here's the manufacturer's site:

The GameTech site says the release date is 12/2/2005, for 10,290 yen (~$86.00 US)

It sounds like it can save the codes you enter so you won't have to enter them every time you power on the NES.

    3 speeds of Slow Motion
Built-in codes for 95 games (300 codes total)
On/Off switch to toggle effects during gameplay
You can save up to 15 games that use battery backup in it, but you can't transfer that data to/from an actual cart.

There was a "Pro Action Rocky" for the Famicom, which I understand wasn't made by Karat/Datel.

The price is pretty high but I think these devices are worth it, IMO the main benefit is being able to access debug/beta/unused content in games.

Did any stores sell the Rocky? I know of it, but I think I only saw it on Yahoo JP.

Looks like there's a save state device for the GBA from Gametech too. Pretty cool!

I'd really like to get the Rocky and this these two other cheat devices. Hopefully some place will carry them, or I'll try ordering through the Japanese Gametech website. My computer at work won't display Japanese text, so I'll give it a shot when I get home.

Can Game Genie codes be converted for use with this device? It sounds like a combination of a Game Genie and a Game Action Replay. Pretty cool!
Here is the device's web page. I wish they made a NES version. They made the Neofami, which has a "USA" version, so maybe there is still a chance? I am also still waiting for the NES version of their Pocket Fami. I'd consider playing my NES games on a Famiclone, only if it was a nice portable Famiclone

I'm not too big on getting an NES version, since the Game Action Replay along with a Game Genie can do everything this does, but the Famicom has so few cheat devices outside of rare Bung equipment and the Pro Action ROcky. THe bung equipment, afaik didn't even do cheat codes, just game states, and slomo.

Well what about sticking a honey bee in a top loader NES and using this device by plugging it into said honey bee?

I don't see why you couldn't do that. I usually have trouble when I start stringing adapters together...bad contacts and things like that. I was just saying with Game Genie and Game Action Replay I don't have to use any fami adapters for NES games.

I'm pretty sure I have used a Game Genie on Famicom games before, so I'm sure your idea would work too.

It would be nice to have an all in one adapter that did slowmo, real-time save, cheat codes, was 72-pin, and small enough to fit inside a toaster and toploader, without need for an adapter or console mod. The GAR is nice and all, but it is rare and requires a toaster NES to be modded to fit... and does it even fit in a top loader?

Yea, I guess that's true jag....all-in-one for NES would make a difference. As for the toploader, I dunno...I remember debate about that at another time before...

It would work with an adapter.

If such an all-in-one adapter could also be compatible with every NES game, then it could also be used to mitigate the 72-pin connector problems, as is done with a Game Genie today. The problem with the Game Genie method is that some games don't run correctly through the Game Genie.
