I was talking with someone yesterday about this... what's the cheapest DDR setup you can get? Assume that this person doesn't own any consoles.

Egbert, I miss you...
Until the price went up on eBay, I would have said buying a Cube and the DDR Mario package. Could easily do that under $100.
PS1 with either DDR or DDR Konamix, and the cheapest POS pad you can find on eBay, probably like $20ish.
Total, probably $70-$80 when its all said and done.

Does it have to be DDR?
Otherwise, used GameCube for about $50.00 with Mc Dance Groovz or whatever is $80.00 total, including pad.
A Playstation with DDR game and pad would probably cost about $60 if you look hard enough.
You can do Feet of Fury with dance mat and Dreamcast for about $60 too. I know because I just helped someone do that exact thing
Mind you, if you want to play the DDR games themselves, get them for a not-Dreamcast system, as those ones pretty much stink compared to... any other versions out there, really.

For the love of god, do NOT buy that game. The worst DDR clone to ever be made. I bet you can find them for $10, but thats only because it totally SUCKS.Originally Posted by goatdan

Not complete with the pad. I've seen plenty used copies for $20 in shops, but the complete sets have pretty much sold out now.
Like I said in another thread, I've seen a ton of them recently. I'm now completely, utterly torn on if I'll be purchasing it or not. I wanted a newer dance game and the GameCube would be the choice as the Xbox pads are pricey, but I don't want to get one that sucks, and if Mario DDR is going to be hard to find for a while...Originally Posted by Mayhem
Well, maybe I'll just stick with Feet of Fury.

Best Buy has a In The Groove bundle for $30 that has the game and 2 pads for PS2.

Hehe, I saw this thread and was about to suggest a DC and FoF. I scored a copy of DDR 2nd mix from someone for next to nothing too, so it really has been a pretty cheap way to go.Originally Posted by goatdan
I have seen standalone "plug-n-play" DDR style games/mats for around $20 but I have no idea how good they are.
