Sounds like a valid point... may just be due to a lack of knowledge about the cart. I don't know much about it... I assume it was similar to lifebike for snes? care to elaborate?Originally Posted by Player-2
yeah, please let us know more about it... cost... etc... I have never even heard of it until now... thats so nuts... might have picked it up... get in shape.. haha.. ~Matt
Can't be complete without this one.
computrainer is a system that lets you mount any bike you own on a stand, and peddle your way through different race courses...it puts drag on the wheel when going up hill, changes scenery on your TV as you progress (these are real raceway scenes for pros to practice courses). Most run on PC and are available new still.. But for a while it could also be run with a NES and the racermate cartridge. The "set" came with everything....heart monitor, bike mount, cabling, and the cart. Do an ebay search for computrainer. Then pretend it is exactly the same kit, but with an NES cart instead of PC software.
It was an NES cart made and sold (liscensed I think) in this country...but people just don't seem to include it for complete collections.
just checking
The "Racermate Challenge" cart is unlicensed. It sells alone for around $175 or so.
It's not on the same level as Caltron and Myriad, but it's the same type of thinking.
It was sold here, but you need the Racermate bike in order to use it.
One valid point is made, if anyone is including the Panesians, you have to include this game as well, as it's FAR MORE of a US title that any of the Panesian crap.
that's a standard part of the set, I think most people would agree.Originally Posted by Buyatari
Bronty, that's a label variation. I think that game was originally done by AVE, and then the rights were given to the company that produced Shockwave, so what he has is a label variation/prototype label version of the game.
very cool wally bear...I am very envious!!

erm, forgive my ignorance of all things nes, but what is the keyboard pictured in the auction?
im guessing its not a fully programmable digital synthesizer with a nes chip, although that would be the ultimate

Yeah but who cares? If we're going to talk about label and box variations there are a MILLION of them.
I mean, if you want to apply that type of thinking then only a complete set of completes (or factory sealed) with all possible box (and therefore label) variations would be 'truly complete'.
After all, there are all kinds of slight differences in boxes, manuals, etc. ALL of the black boxes exist in at least two box variations each, and almost all exist in more. Up to five or six versions... are you going to count them all?
When its 2 different companies then its not a variation but a seperate game. Even if the code it identical. ie Sears vs Atari carts on the Atari 2600.(re wally bear)

exactly, just like we all include myriad and caltron different, eventhough they are more the same then these two carts will ever be. Same with impossible mission II.Originally Posted by Buyatari
btw, that wally bear is rare as fuck. wish i had one.
then i guess we gotta also include the nifty pyrimad test variation cart that i've seen pop up a few times on ebay (god only knows why i never bid on it).
also, the racermate challange two cart... two different looking carts... a tengen looking version and then their own unique design. plus, the unique design version has two variations (upside down label and rightside up )
The tengen looking cart was meant to be played on the toaster NES while the unique cart is meant to be played on top loaders only.
I do not think (and i have talked with some people who had bought the racermate cartridge and set up when it came out), that there actually exists a racermate challenge 1 cart. i think this is just an expansion of the racermate challange version that was on PC...
possibly the rarest released nintendo game IMHO... and i'm sure others will agree.
and here comes the beginning of what could be a price jump in these bad boys...

Wally Bear is the same game, it's not even a released product, it was more of a prototype than anything else.
Myriad is just a slapped on sticker on the cart, and an orginal box/manual IIRC.
Ah whatever. Racermate is Racermate, there should only be one of those...everything is just one wacky variation.
variations....god help us!!! But wally bear grey is still cool. And I do not have one. not cool.
