FFVI Advance (Your Personal Wish List)

As everybody knows by now, FFIV is being released this week with several huge changes. Were not talking about the inferior PS1 ports with lousy FMVs, but:

*Better Translation
*Ability to change party members at the final portion of the game (My personal fav)
*Enormous New Dungeon on the Moon, new content
*New Monsters

Although I liked FFV alot, I think I am not alone when I say seeing FFVI "Advanced" is really what we are waiting for. What would you like to see in FFVI advance, some things I would love are:

*Revival of General Leo, and having him as a selectable character.

*New characters (Or perhaps the ability to play as ones that you could not originally such as the Emporer, Kefka, Ziegfried, who knows?)

*New Dungeons (Pertaining to story)

*More adventures, new plot details!

By the way, is this version is supposed to bear more of a resemblance to the original Japanese release, or is it more like FFIV EasyType?

Good question, I picked this game up last night, and already discovered a new monster in the Mist Dragon's cave. Some kind of Toad. The rest is smooth sailing

Yet, I wish I knew if this was FFIV (original) or the FFIV (Easy type)

I agree the translation is a tad better then the PSX verison even.

We are even treated to a brand new intro, which imho feels like a true relative to the SNES verison.

Music is remixed in some scenes, but not going over board with it, it actually sounds better. Other themes are left alone as they were meant to be.

I honestly love the new artwork they gave for characters Rosa and Cid. Cid looks buff as hell now, not this fat lil dorky/funny guy from the past FFIV games.

The only thing I can say, it was worth it for the box art kinda and it still blows my mind that it was only a few years ago and a decade ago as we played this on PSX and SNES.

Now to have it perfectly updated and translated unto the small screen is a dream come true. The only thing I'm dying to get ahold of now, is Final Fantasy V Advance. Since, this is my favorite FF as well.

Thanks for the information GnG! I will definatly pick this up today at Target which has it on sale for $26.88. I never finished the SNES version so maybe I'll finish this one. Allthough I need to finish Mario and Luigi: PiT first.

Back on the main topic...or main question

This is what I would like to see for FFVI, more side-quests and at least 2 to 3 bonus playable characters just for kicks.

Of course they'll add some extras Dungeons and such.

How about some classic monsters from previous FF games as well?

Add new Weapons and Armor for some of the shops even.

I'll get this game eventually for my collection, but I've literally beaten FF4 over 20 times. I just can't stand to beat it AGAIN.

FF6 I always get stuck in the beginning since it's so SLOW to pickup early on. I can't WAIT until that gets ported. It's probably the only port I've ever really looked forward to besides the remake of DW4, which never came stateside.

Sidequests!!
I don't want them messing with the game too much, so no new characters for me. Doesn't hurt to have a little extra something to do, just make sure that they don't add it in a weird irrelevant place or mess with the story in anyway.

i'd like a scene showing kefka's messed up magic infusion. in case any of you forgot, he was a normal person until it happen. he was the first person to undergo the treatment, and i guess it brought out the monster we all know and love. it also explains why he hated leo so much (leo refused to undergo the treatment, as a soldier is overheard saying in the base where sabin meets cyan.

also, maybe a secret coliseum match against ultros? a 2-player versus battle with moogles (like the locke one at the beginning of the game). removing the edited stuff would be nice, too (cyan had porn mags in his retreat on zozo mt. that americans never saw).

I'd wish that they'd add some insanely hard optional bosses to the game. You know, like Ruby and Emerald weapon in Final Fantasy VII.

That, and a couple of new sidequest dungeons with new equipment.

I'm hoping for:

-a lot of additional storyline/backstory
-3-4 extra playable characters: could be Leo, Ghestal, or maybe the ability to keep one of those ghosts from the Phantom Train.
-more monsters
-optional bosses/dungeons
-new magic/espers
-anything that would make the game deeper/longer/more enjoyable for us fans

I'd just like Realm and Shadow's relationship expanded on a bit here and there. Maybe a few more dream sequences would be handy for that.

Maybe some more Setzer / Daryl stuff would be nice, but really...all I REALLY want is more Realm/Shadow stuff...anything else would be icing on the cake.

Stuff like expanding on Gogo and Umaro and polishing up the ending would be neat, too.

I just want it to be released already!

The one thing I didn't like about the game was that I felt some of the character's stories were cut off half way through (like Relm and Shadow, as was previously mentioned). As long as that is fixed, it will be a perfect game in my mind.

Oh, and maybe a sound test in the options. I love the music in that game.

What I would like to see, and this has been my major gripe about Final Fantasy VI (3, whatever) since it came out is that the entire story essentially takes place in the World of Balance. The World of Ruin is nothing more than Celes's drama, collecting the other characters, and leveling up until you can take on Kefka's tower.

Put in some story! Make it more interesting for the last half of the game!

Haven't really had a problem with this, but the font they decided to use makes me have to re-read sometimes
