Here's a plug for dreamcasthistory.com ... some good info on the DC, and nice "only-dc" forums.. check em out

    www.segagaga.com
    www.classicgaming.com/japangaming

These sites both contain info on lots of JAP DC games.. in case you are into importing, which you should be =)

    I suggest starting here

    http://digitpress.com/dpg_plug.htm

That magical blue book is the best thing you could ever have when collecting dreamcast. Approximate value, rarity number, and some info on each game. Priceless!

Sonic Adventure LE is the rarest I believe.
Good fun games to start with I think are:
    Sonic Adventure 1&2
    Crazy Taxi 1&2
    any Resident Evils
    Shenmue
    Soul Calibur
    Legacy of Kain: Soul Reaver
    Virtua Fighter 3tb
    Chu Chu Rocket
    Phantasy Star Online
Most 1st party games are great.
The DC has a very good ratio of good games so don't feel too nervous about buying games you haven't heard of/seen before.

My good man you have come to the right place
You could with some 2d and fighting games.
    Ikaruga, Doa2, Frame Gride(pretty rare)

Grame gride is a From software from the Armored core series but instead the focus is mech fighting one-on-one arcade style with lots of Upgrades and customization plus it's not on any other system, plus it has an online battle mode not to mention really cool artwork.

You could try Virtual on W/Twin sticks.oh, pleae note: Frame gride is like an Armored core virtual-on only fater, darker and loads of upgrading options.

Powerful pro baseball dc edition is really rare! I think there is a couple versions on dc. it's a jp cute, super defored baseball game.

It was already mentioned, but www.dreamcasthistory.com is the best site for all things DC related. I maintain all of my collection lists from their collection lists.

And if you're looking for bonuses, Cool Herders is being released from my business, the GOAT Store, LLC, and it has a pre-order poster available for only today and tomorrow until midnight.

not very. it's an import, so finding one in the wild in the states would be pretty amazing, but you can get one shpped from over seas on ebay pretty much any day of the week for around $10 or so. i think lik-sang.com still might be selling them as well. common as far as Japanese games go. still a nice little collection piece though.

and i also would just like to give my support here to www.dreamcasthistory.com

Dreamcasthistory.com is a great place to start. The rarity guide that is here is good. The actual BOOK that you have to BUY!!! is avalible in the link Grandam posted.

That should give you a shit load of places to get started.

Why are you only interested in collecting rare games? Are you even going to bother playing them or will they go straight to eBay if you find one?

Didn't someone else make almost the exact same post recently?
