Default NES with green LED... worth anything different?

Someone's trying to tell me they have a 'rare' NES system with a green LED rather than a red one. My "BS" meter is on high with this one, but I figured I'd double check just in case.

Holy crap. It's been a while.

I have no clue if there really is a "green led nes" but my guess it is just modded by someone.

I would call BS as well, and tell them it really isn't rare, just someone spent 1 dollar on a replacement led lol

He definitely just switched the LED. I'd say its worth less than a normal one.

Without a doubt, my fine-fethered friend; I even saw an article about this on the web (I think it was NES fountain, if I'm not mistaken...). Whats the price? Even though it's no more rare than a regular NES, you should try bargaining with him; after all, a modded NES would be pretty kick-@$$ (especially when you're not the one who took-apart his console ).

A NES with just the LED swapped would be kick-ass? Unless the connector's been switched, I'd say no.

I think it would be neat to own one just because I have never seen an NES with a different colored LED in it. Wouldn't think it would be too hard to switch the old red one for a different colored one? Just a couple wires isn't it? If I knew anything about soldering and had some spare NES toasters laying around, I would give it a shot

When replacing the LED light, do you need to solder anything? If not, it'll be a simple unscrew, unassemble, make the switch, re-assemble, and put the screws back in.

Soldering... I don't even want to try.

Yes it requires soldering. I've done a few green swaps for the unbridled rush. Whatever you do though don't put in a blue LED that's too much excitement for anyone to handle.
