I don't know why it took me this long to remember this game, it next to mat mania were my favs.
How many versions, or anything else are there of it and for what system. I know NES had one...anyone else?

My life and perception has changed, but my principals are the same.
There's a sequel on the PC Engine (aka Turbografx-16) and an ill-conceived 3D remake on the Sega Saturn.
Hey, I liked this game a lot too. The ability to combine five different ships really appealed to me, and helped make the game a lot more memorable than your ordinary average Xevious clone.

Terra Cresta....also available on the X86000 and the PC Engine (Terra Cresta 2). Don't know of any other systems offhand except that Terra Cresta 3D came out for the import Saturn and supposedly sucked hard.

Here's something I DIDN'T know about until years later.. Did you know Terra Cresta is pretty much the sequel/successor to MOON CRESTA? I didn't know that and I played both games to death :P
Another little known fact; the arcade sequel to this was Terra Force, which is a righteous shump in it's own right. Grab it on MAME!
