Default Nes has power but no video or sound.

My nes powers on and does nothing else, all I can see is the power light, what solder connections do I check and what might be blown?

Does your screen show up any color at all white, blue, green, grey, etc? If it does ts the NES cart connector, have you tryed the RF output as well?

In more than 700 NES's serviced, I have NEVER seen that before.

Try both RCA cords and the RF switch, to narrow down the problem.

Try a differant power supply, while you're at it.

Well you said the A/V connections work,so you could connect it like that. And if your a fan of "Stereo" Sound for the NES,which is only split mono, get a cheap Y adapter. If you dont have A/V on your TV you could get an RF Modulator.

It looks clean to me, I got it from a friend who said his dad played it for like six hours non stop and then it blew and wouldn't play anymore. I narrowed it down to this problem. I don't want to use it, I want to try to repair it and sell it. Any more ideas?

Other than harvesting the entire RF / AV module from another NES and replacing it with the bad one, I have no idea on how to get yours working.
