I was wondering if they came in "boxes" and with "inserts," carts such as the DK and Starfox Competition Carts.

The DKC comp cart came in a green Blockbuster style case, with a yellow insert. If that's what you're asking. Otherwise, the rest were loose carts.
The European Starwing compo cart came in a box with manual though...
Yup, thanks for responding!
Atlantis II had a box also. It was a normal Atlantis box with a white strip sticker that said Atlantis II on it.
wait... a normal cardboard box?? the only pic with a box i've seen was with some plastic case nobody was sure about wether it was actually included originally or not :/Originally Posted by Mayhem

Well yeah, I meant a plastic box here not a cardboard one
As the copy I have of it came straight from someone who was given it as a prize for the competition (he was highest scorer at the shop he played at) then you can probably take it that the box in question (at least the one I have now) was included as part of the "set". I'm assuming he didn't get the box separately to put the cart and manual in, it would seem a bit... silly to hand them over loose.
yeah that's the box i know, it could still be a generic case used by Nintendo or sth, we don't know :/

Probably. The important part is that it most likely was used as the box for sending the cart to the winners
Either way, the European version has a manual and the US one definitely does not.
