Is that how Zork begins? I don't remember that at all.
Unless maybe there are different versions. That is exactly how Zork for the Apple 2 begins.Originally Posted by Kid Ice

it's how Zork I on all systems work. However perhaps you started with a different Zork. I, II, III, IV, Zero, Return to and another one which were more like Myst games.
Now that I think of it, Zorks tended to be closer to Myst than D&D which is how most people around here compare the two.
Man... now I need some Zork goodness, what effects can one get the ol' Infocom goodness back. I know of the H2G2 repro, but what of the originals. I want me some Zorkmids

Holy crap. It's been a while.
I believe that there is a Zork collection, similar to the Ultima collection. Or you can just head over to www.virtualapple.org and play them via an online emulator.Originally Posted by AB Positive

Behold the awsome power of the Zork opening. It's just one of those things that spurs conversation.
Thanks for that link Jibba, it's been years since i've actually played Zork.
Heh. I think the first one was the only one I played, I just don't remember it that way. I thought it might be Suspect, Deadline, Witness, etc. I've been off the Infocom bus for about 20 years and my mental faculties are failing. I picked up C64 Pirates! at the DP store yesterday so when I do a session with that maybe I'll throw in a little Zork.Originally Posted by AB Positive
