actually, via modern programs like "ZDoom" and "JDoom" it is possible to play the entire DOOM trilogy online with ease.
These cartridges are dirty as hell and I'm not going to take it anymore!
It is interesting to note that id had nothing to do with the Windows 95 port of Doom. Microsoft was given the source code so they could show off their new Windows graphics API called "WinG" (which quickly morphed into DirectX).
Unfortunately for this port, there is no music and the mouse input code only works on Windows 9x. When id publicly released the source code to Doom, they were unsuccessful in tracking down the Doom95 source. MS appears to have lost it forever.
That's not really true, because "THE" Windows 95 port of DOOM included with the big box "DOOM Collector's Edition" works just fine, including mouse and sound support as well as a regular Windows interface.
