Default DS success going to help revo?

Seems to me like the DS's success will be just the thing the doctor ordered for the revolution launch. Right before the psp's launch it seemed (keeping in mind I really hadn't kept up with modern gaming in five years) that nintendo might be in trouble with gamecube being in third place and the GBA's territory being under attack.

Since then, I've found out that nintendo's in fine shape financially (if the rumors are to be believed, I don't know how to look up Jap. financial statements) and with the DS kicking some serious ass lately it seems like people are not only more excited about nintendo again but also more willing to try new ideas like the revo controller and ds stylus.

WIthout the DS kicking ass, I wondering if the revo controller would have bombed royally. As it is though, I think things look very good for them - interesting new hardware, likely priced cheap, with a zelda game probably at launch or close to.

thoughts? I think they can be very thankful that the ds is turning out so well - I think it gives them some momentum and customer goodwill going into the revo launch. I'll definitely pick one up for myself and one for my nieces.

Hmm, interesting - what are you basing that on? Seems to me that they're in a nice little niche of the market given that the price on competing hardware is going up, up, up.

The DS is amazing. It had such a slow start (most launchs do) but it just took off. Right when Nintendogs and Advance Wars came out it just started the insanity that was A+ games.
