Definitly one my more memorable NES games. Had a kickass intro and the ending was good too! I remember beating it many times and after using the 2 controller warp code to get a few things early on (like the Leather Boots and I think an armor when I had the cash, I don't remember). Wish I sitll had it.
So what were the changes between the NES and GBC editions?
My Gaming Collection (Now at Google Drive!)
I don't recall anything from the localization, but I do remember they pumped up the suck for the new music. Sounded like first-year Nintendo releases played through a gramophone.Originally Posted by Kaine23
Definitely a classic. I borrowed it from my cousin a few times back in the day. I had a blast, but unfortunately never got to finish it.
I have the GBC rerelease now, but now that I own an NES I'll probably hunt it down for that too.
For an NES game, I was really surprisd how long it was! Great game as we all say too =)
Good question then again that's like asking, SNKP to do a update for, Ikari Warriors x_xOriginally Posted by rbudrick

one can only imagine
Well there was 2 sequels, just not on a next gen console. Ikari Warriors for the Neo Geo could have been very cool....maybe like sort of an overhead Metal Slug, heh heh.Good question then again that's like asking, SNKP to do a update for, Ikari Warriors

The moral is, don't **** with Uncle Tim when he's been drinking!
Something else regarding Crystalis, it was the first game I really took the time to keep the box in mint condition. Like I said in my post the day after I bought it we went to a comic shop. It was right around the dawn of my obsessive-compulsive collecting behaviour.
So I remember from then on I stopped trashing my boxes and started to worry about keeping my maps & booklets in mint condition.
15 years later I STILL have that original copy (in super mint condition) with my original save file on it (I used to name all of my characters "Blade").
I've never actually 'played' Crystalis. I had the ROM for NESticle years ago and tested it to see if it worked (which it did), but never played it through.
I played 'Destiny of an Emperor' though - that was really good!
