    Default Blast Corps

After seeing this title on the pseudo-Revolution service, it got me interested in playing through this Rare-developed hidden gem once again.

I remember finishing it after a long, frustrating series of gaming sessions-only to be greeted with the sinister 'nice job, now you have to get faster times' message.

My favorite parts of the game were the Pac-Man like levels featuring the dump truck. They were tough, but lots of fun.

So...what is your concensus? Did YOU finish it? Get any Platinum medals? Do tell!
RIP bargora, you will be greatly missed. That is how we do things on Giedion Prime.

Great game, but I hate the dumptruck, so very much. Everything else is fine, but what do you have to use 75% of the time? arg.

Yeah, I hated those dump truck missions (the ones you had to do the spin/crush move with) are lousy, but the rest of the game is pretty fun, even with the lame ending.

Great game! I empathize with you on that dump druck. It is actually very useful once you get used to it, seeming as it will destroy a ton of stuff in one skid, but it takes hours of frustration to do it well. I finished the ordinary game and the moon and all that, but only managed 2 or 3 of the platinum medals before giving up. Some of the times you have to get for those are insane.

I played it a bunch, got a few Plat medals and completed the game. I should really give it a spin again as its a fun game, and rather addictive.

I'm one of the oddballs that remember hearing all this great stuff about the game, so I bought it...

And I didn't know what all the fuss was about. It was all right, but I didn't think it was that great of a game by a long shot.

Good god I loved this game. You wanna know what I remember? To reset the game and start over from the beginning, you had to hold a ridiculous number of buttons and my friend and I had no instruction manual so we had no idea how to do it. Spent like, at lease a couple of stoned hours trying to figure that bitch out.

I'll echo what several others have said. As much as the dump truck missions blew ass, the game was a ton of fun. I've never been able to finish it, though...I suck at those stupid dump truck missions far too much.

It was definitely a fun game. I was able to get somewhere over half of the platinums before I stopped playing. I should probably fire it up again and get the rest, but I'm too lazy. And I'd probably only play it for like 5 minutes anyway before going to something else. >_>

I can remind you: there were all of six games on the shelves for the system back then. People had to fuss about something!

I've played the first couple of levels and enjoyed it but it didn't catch my interest enough to keep at it. I *did* catch my interest enough to play it again at some point, but I've got other games to play first

I remember 2 of the dumptruck missions were incredibly hard, because of the stupid slide move. I managed to get some plats though, and the planet levels rocked

I got all the platinum medals... all of them. Wanna know what happens then? It's quite the reward.

    *spoilers*

You are now ranked "YOU CAN STOP NOW". No congratulatory screen, no bonus... a whole lot of nothing. Plus, you get back to the main level hub in case you would want to continue. Nice.

P.S. I broke my two N64 controllers while trying this feat, and had to borrow a friend's controller to finish it (and swear I would buy him another controller in case I destroyed it... which I never did destroy).

    Fair.

I guess I just never got caught up in the "I have to love something on here" hype, which is why I'm still not really a fan of that system and why I rank my purchasing of an N64 as probably the worst gaming choice I ever made.

Sure I had a little fun with it, but not even close to the amount of fun other systems have given me.
