pretty neat, and as you can see altered beast is one of the 12 games. since it supports cd-r, i see no reason why some how you couldnt put master system/game gear roms on a disc and play it on there. im sure someone will figure it out. pretty cool item though!

The Copy V-Zon. Interesting lookig unit...I'm trying to figure out which countries it will be released in. Apparently, it will have video out and digital audio out. Pretty cool!

Everyone's heard of Famiclones, but Markiiiclones? Yes, I'm very creative.

    Aye.

I think you could get away with Masterclones, though, as they actually did release 'the' SMS in Japan, later on (think theirs had FM sound integrated, no fair).

Did a search on the subject, but Joystiq links back to that site...hmm.

Personally, I could spring for one of these. Would wait until it's cheap, and I'm only interested if it's got some games I'd like.

Damn, why couldn't it be Power Strike instead of Ecco? Both games shown in the screenshots were done far better on the Genesis.

Hmm...if CRV's right...woot, Alex Kidd in Shinobi World?!

Don't get your hopes up, but that would make sense...and lots of it...

Alex Kidd in Shinobi World? There ya go, great start off title. Shame this will probably not even see the US shores.
These cartridges are dirty as hell and I'm not going to take it anymore!

Never say never. Hastings Superstores tend to carry a lot of Coby products and I wouldn't be too surprised to see this or something like it on the shelves one day, DVD region issues notwithstanding.

Target sells a portable DVD player that comes integrated with what I think is some sort of non-cart Famiclone, but it could just be a garden variety handheld fami thrown in the same box. Still, it's a nice marketing angle especially if you're into the whole "convergence" thing.

Lol yeah, I thought of that, but I was sticking with the whole fami=japanese idea,, so I went with the Japanese name, not that the SMS (NOT the Mark III) didn't see release in Japan, heh heh. Marki ends the same as Fami, also. I demand everyone in the world calls them Markiiiclones.

Big Lots usually carries Coby stuff. And if you didn't notice, this AVING article says it's from Coby USA:

I would have to let this one drop in price a bit...er...a lot, but I just realized that the letters are large. Yeah, I can't see what that could possibly be aside from Alex Kidd in Shinobi World. Definitely a must!

i dont know i see coby stuff pretty cheap at big lots all the time. and while im sure this will be pricey, if big lots does have it, your sure to get a great deal. i for one will be keeping my eyes open for it!

on a side note, man have i been getting some great deals at big lots lately. one was an old obscure tv show called freddys nightmares. where freddy krueger hosted a half hour mystery/horror show like tales from the crypt. they had tons of episodes there on vhs for $1.99 each!
