I've gotta go with the Tekken 5 stick from Hori. The Street Fighter Anniversary stick isn't anywhere near as good. The buttons feel cheap, and it uses a circle gated stick, so you can't feel the diagonals at all. Have fun trying to do dragon punches with that.
Same for me, the Tekken 5 is great. It's even greater because I got it as a gift from my GF
The SF one is good to play Metal Slug
The BEST one out of the box for the PS2 IMO is the Hori Real Arcade Pro. You'd have to import it or get it through the official Hori distributor at www.vgonetwork.com when they get more in stock(cheapest price for that stick on the internet btw).
The Hori Real Arcade Pro is what the Tekken 5 stick TRIES to be, but the main difference is, the HRAP uses authentic arcade parts(stick) and higher quality Hori buttons. There are also autofire/turbofire features on the HRAP.
I <3 Arcade Sticks, I own about 30 different ones...
I have to agree with MarkMan. The Hori Real Arcade Pro is unquestionably the best stick on the market. Hori is the "Hattori Hanzo" of joysticks...and the RAP1 is their best (I realize there is now a $150 RAP2...but c'mon).Originally Posted by MarkMan
They run about $80.00, but shipping is usually close to $60 additional from Japan or Hong Kong. Why they don't carry these in the US (at the very least online) is beyond me.
The VGO "online store" is basically a guy's e-mail address. I wouldn't really trust sending $100+ to an amateur website unless people here can vouch for him. I'd stick to Lik-Sang or Play Asia.
I loved the Interact Shadow Blade arcade stick. I spilled soda on mine
and it's too bad Interact is gone, I may have to check Ebay.
i second the shadowblade, it's very comfortable for me
Oh god, the Shadowblade struck me as total rubbish. First of all, the stick is way too stiff. You really have to jam on it for diagonals. And then the buttons... You know how they click, suggesting they have microswitches in them? Well, they do. But they aren't wired up to anything. The actual button electronics are some dumb rubber switch things like in any cheap stick. The microswitches are just for the noise. And yes, they are actually real microswitches, because I ripped a couple of them out and used them to make a different controller. Ha ha.
Yeah it isn't really for everyone. I would love to order an X-Arcade stick but it all seems to wind up to expensive with all the adaptors and such, when I don't play that many fighting games. I wonder who would buy the Gamecube adaptor
The Shadowblade stick is the worst crap I've ever controlled a video game with, barely below the NES Power Glove.
My favorite joysticks are always from ASCII, their "standard" PS1 arcade stick one of my favorite joysticks EVAR. Just barely behind ASCII's NES Advantage. (Nintendo put their name on tha one, though.
I need to get me one of those HORI jobs.
i had a shadowblade but it just sucked and it is collecting dust in a closet somewhere.
i will check out that hori stick, sounds to be what i want.

Seems like alot of people don't like that stick
I will vouch for the VGO online store. Harry is the man.
I'm not the only one either.
Check his feedback on the shoryuken.com forums(biggest Street Fighter/Fighting Game community website)...
I didnt like the Shadowblade much either. :C
I will, however, vouch for the VGONETWORK online store. VGONETWORK is the exclusive U.S. distributor of HORI arcade sticks; VGO gets it directly from them. VGONETWORK also has the cheapest prices for the HRAP's and excellent feedback from several of the big name fighting game communities. A definite recommend.
Maybe you just got lucky and got a well-built one or something. ;-)Originally Posted by Joker T

For the HRAP2. That's pretty much it. Button layout is more true to Japanese arcade layout.
Different casing color/stick & buttons color, and plate finish.
Also the buttons are different from HRAP1, they're more like the US T5 Hori stick. Other than that nothing else is different.
Both HRAP1 and 2 have quick disconnects so it is VERY easy to replace the stick/buttons with sanwa/seimitsu parts.
Neo Geo stick for PS2 is fun,esp for metal gear X 3 4 and 5...
also for any KoF games...
GRAB that rarity away from the LOSER in front of you at that garage sale... they do not DESERVE it
Life is short... Take what you can...
