...I must have put hours into that game, although it really stunk I couldn't bring myself to admit it and after awhile it was in my regular game rotation with Contra and Double Dragon II. You gotta love a super-deformed SupermanOriginally Posted by Cav

Spelunker is also awesome! I love that game with all my soul. I can almost beat it with my eyes closed.Originally Posted by LinkOracle
NES Superman is frickin' rad. Clunky and ugly, but at least First Star tried to do something cool with the license instead of making a wimpy platformer or shooter. And the music is great. It has almost nothing to do with Superman, but it's great.Originally Posted by Cav
I also second Deadly Towers. DT is actually a brilliant game incognito. It just takes a little time and effort. Get some maps from an FAQ and the game is suddenly 1000 times better.
I'll add Monster Lair for the TG-16 CD-ROM. It's the long-lost Wonderboy spinoff. Not a very deep game, and the music is atrocious considering that was supposed to be its selling point. But I'll spend hours and hours playing that stupid game over and over. I love it; can't figure out why, but I do.
Football Frenzy for the Neo Geo. I can't even defend this one. Strange game, strange graphics ... but I can't put it down once I start playing it.
State of Emergency (X-Box)
I like the arcade-style, sorta scorebased gameplay. Plus, if I play this and watch Dawn of the Dead at around the same time, they seem to correlate.
Mega Man X5 (PSX)
It may be a little easy but I still find it to be a pretty solid platformer especially when compared to the horrid X6.
Deadly Towers thirded. I love it even though it sucks.
AD&D: Heroes of the Lance for the NES. I still can't figure out how to play it, but it's the ONLY (in my knowledge) DragonLance video game and DragonLance is my favorite fantasy series. This game was soo poorly made, but the character models are pretty accurate to the novels' descriptions and cover art, and that's the only good thing I can say about this game.
Also Mario is Missing! and Mario's Time Machine for the SNES. A lot of people write them off as crap because they're educational and don't have the best controls or gameplay, and they were too simple, but I was still thoroughly entertained and amused at the concepts of both games. I should pop those in again. I almost beat Time Machine but the only reason I lost was I missed the time limit, and I haven't played it since.

Miniature Golf for the Atari 2600. Everyones hates it, but I enjoyed it a lot.
Or regular Golf for that matter. I played it to death.Originally Posted by Leo_Ames

Amidar on VCS. Joe calls it one of the worst in DPs 'Worst' issue, but I love it and I play it for hours (as I just rebought it)
Corvette (PS2, also on Xbox) - repetitive, horrible load times, rubber-band AI gets annoying in the harder mode. Yet, I'm halfway through the game and intend to finish it someday.
Malice (PS2, also on Xbox) - This platformer would have been regarded as mediocre on the PS1 or N64; but playing through it isn't a bad way to kill a lazy Saturday.
I'll fourth Deadly Towers. I've talked about this at length in other threads, but once you get powered up, its a great game with great music. Could've done w/o the dungeons completely, though. I think the game shouldbe remade, and get a sequel. 2-d , though.
Mini Golf for the VCS wasn't bad, I thought. Not much different than any mini golf games in the DP arcade, really...just better graphics.

The moral is, don't **** with Uncle Tim when he's been drinking!
i love games with a lot of unguided wandering/adventuring, like road trip, finny the fish, aquanaut's holiday and tail of the sun.
they're not crap games, but it seems like not many people can stand to play them on account of how nebulous the content can be. i enjoy them all the same.

Sewer Shark, and all of those other FMV games, Sega CD or not.
It's just cool. The humor is cool in ground zero texas, too.
Xardion was AWESOME. I absolutely loved that game. No one better hate that game, because that was one of my SNES favorites that not a lot of people knew about.Originally Posted by Dimitri

Night Trap on Sega CD
I can't believe someone already mentioned Superman for NES. I played it two or three times and each time I enjoyed it up until I got to a point (the same point) where I could not figure out what to do or where to go. Still, I really enjoyed it.
I'll also add Spiderman: Return of the Sinister Six for NES as well. Sure, the play control could be a little wonky (and the enemies on Mysterio's level could cheaply kill you), but it was a decent platformer with a sort of Bionic Commando-like feel to the webbing and graphics good-enough to recognize the Spiderman license.
