Default Pirate SMS games on a Megadrive

Now this is something interesting for the Sega fans amongst us!!!!

    http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Extremely-Rare...QQcmdZViewItem

According to this, its A megadrive cart (pirate one) with 12 SMS games on that doesnt need the Master System convertor to run them at all!!!

    Its an extremely tempting purchase!!

Anyone have any info on this/anyone own one!?

Hey, that's a cool pirate! I've never even heard of it, but I've probably heard of maybe .00001% of the pirate carts out there. Do you think this one is worth the money? I wonder how easy it was to make...

The original version of Phantasy Star was released for the Megadrive (officially.) It's the Master System code, not a port. It doesn't need a convertor as the cart uses a standard Megadrive interface.

Thanks for indulging my gaming habit when I was young, Dad. You were the best. I miss you. ~David Barnes 1926-2007~

NOT WORTH THE MONEY. I bought all those titles combined (legit copies, not pirates) complete AND the Power Base Converter for less money than that.

50 pounds plus shipping? For a pirate? No fucking way.

EDIT: On second read, I think there was some sarcasm in the initial post, heh heh. Almost got me.

That's a ridiculous price for a pirate, especially one with no original material. They're not as rare as the seller makes out either - I've seen a few different MD multicarts that compile SMS games (usually the same titles in a different cover - Asian bootleggers seem to have even less qualms about ripping each other off than they do pirating official releases).

Also, it uses the same technique as the official MD Phantasy Star to access the SMS-compatibility mode built into every MD/Genesis - the Power Base Convertor just lets this same method be used for (almost) any SMS game.

I've got a 64-in-1 of the same type. (actually only 16 unique games, many standard games just with different starting levels)

Mine has Double Target, Ashura, Fantasy Zone, Pit Pot, Satellite 7, Teddy Boy, Machine Gun Joe, and a few others I can't remember off the top of my head.
