    Default Collecting Milestones Thread 2006

Figured that since nobody started this yet that I'd take the honor. First off, here's links to the previous milestone threads:

    The 2004 version:
    http://www.digitpress.com/forum/showthread.php?t=27019

    The 2005 version:
    http://www.digitpress.com/forum/showthread.php?t=51539

And for anybody who doesn't know how this goes, I'm gonna quote Joe since his explanation is better than mine would be:

Each time you reach a milestone this year, enter it into this thread. It should be fun to check back in a year later to see what kind of progress we all made.
And I'll kick things off with mine: I got my 470'th game today, which was Gradius for the NES. With the other games I got today I'm currently at 473.

EDIT: The switch to the new forum changed the links to the other threads. Added the correct links.

I got Persona 2 and Rhapsody which pushed my colection up to around 670ish games. I didnt even notice when I had reached 500 untill months after the fact when I realized I'd got 30 over.

I just passed 150 current-generation games. Considering that I've been moving more and more away from the classic gaming (I've been having a hard time paying $70+ for NES games that I don't have any sort of nostalgic attachment to, or aren't really any good) I'm pretty happy, as there have been very few of these 150 games that I haven't gotten to play and enjoy for at least a little while.

My biggest disappointment, though, was coming one game away from finishing my domestic PSX shmup collection. Still missing probably the best of the bunch, Einhander. Just ran out of money when building the collection. Ah, well. It'll be mine soon.

I've exceeded 1,000 games as of the beginning of this month. Although I have no idea which game in particular made this happen, I just got a copy of Tengen's "Pac-Mania" along with a box in rather sad shape today.

According to the Digital Press guide, the total value of my collection is $4,854. not including Super Famicom games (which make up 21% of my collection, but are counted as $0 according to the guide)

The top five of my collection composition shapes up like this:
    SNES/SFC - 21%
    NES - 18%
    3DO - 8%
    PSX - 8%
    Saturn - 6%

My 3DO (North American releases only) collection is over 60% complete. Finding DinoPark Tycoon is going to be "fun" ;p

I had numerous "300th Saturn games"... first official one was Hansha De Spark! I believe... then I sold/traded off some, then got back to 300. Currently in the 290 plateau....

Speaking of which I consider my Saturn collection to be pretty much done. I'd consider that a milestone.

Diehard SEGA Saturn buying (we're talking 3 purchases AT LEAST every week) January 2001-August 2005.

I am aiming to have 1,000 games by Xmas. I'm averaging about 300 a year, so that should be obtainable, as I reckon I have about 700 / 750 now (Haven't counted for a long long time)

I also aim to have all Mario games for teh GameCube by the time the console "Dies". I would also like to own 150 PS2 games by the time the PS3 appears.

I have been lazy lately, and still have a DS, PSP, and X360 still to get. These will come by Xmas, when various LE incarnations become available. I have been waiting primarily for the DS Lite (I hate the original DS) and am waiting for Sony to make a decent coloured PSP.

    I reached three milestones today!

First, Wings Of Wor put me at 50 Genesis games. Contra III: The Alien Wars was my 130'th SNES game (I now have 131 total). Donkey Kong Classics (NES) was my 480'th game, and with the other stuff I got today I'm currently at 483 total.

If anybody wants to see everything I have, there's a link to my video game list in my signature.

I won an Ebay auction for SMS boxed James Buster Douglas Knockout Boxing. That was the only title I was looking for to complete my US SMS set.

Now, the hunt for the remaining Mark III/SMS euro/brazil/whatever other regions has begun!!

Yesterday I surpassed 150 NES accessories (152) excluding doubles but including variants!
I'm always looking for new boxed NES accessories. If you've got any for sale, shoot me a PM!

About a week or two ago, with the acquisition of Frogger II I have completed my Atari 5200 collection, I am so happy. I don't have all of the new releases and homebrews but I am working on those and then getting a boxed collection is what is next in line. I have complete collections for Atari 5200, Channel F, Game.Com
If they made a movie out of your top five worst sins, what would it be rated?

Now that the Online Rarity Guide is back up, I looked up some PlayStation games I got earlier this week, and one of them, Porsche Challenge, is an R6! This makes it my rarest PSX game.

Before this, the rarest PSX games I had were the Nascar 98 Collector's Edition and The Next Tetris, both R5's.
