    Default SCD 1 issues

    Hey,
ok my SCD 1 is broken and I need some one to confirm something for me. On the thin board with the jacks there is a chip labeled LC7881M 1C218 and is there a glob of sodler that conects 2 pins together and I need to know if that is right. If not I'll remove it and it should work.

    Thanks,
    Mr.collection

Yeah, I've been in manhy SEGACD1's, but can't guess with the info you have given. Define 'not work'. No power, no disc read, no eject, what?

I tried to take a pic but my camera is a piece of uber crap. And I think there are other problems and I've been trying just to get a new board or another broken one. Yes it doen't power on plus I don't have the ground plate.

ground plate is not necessary. No power could mean a blown fuse. That's covered in the knowledge base. I's be looking into the easy stuff like that fuse, before I'd be checking out IC pins.
