Default Is it possible to fit a fronlight in a NGPC?

As the question asks! I love my NGPC but I'm tired of using external light sources - especially after getting so used to my GBA SP, DS and PSP...I would love to fit a light in my NGPC afterburner style jsut to give it a new lease of life. Thanks in advance, P

Yes, an afterburner kit can be modified to fit into an NGPC. Afterburners are pretty spendy on the 'Bay though.

Do you know how easy it is? Or do you know of someone who'll fit them for a fee? I'm not all that confident about it but I would give it a try if noone does that sort of thing.

I *want* to offer it through OSG, but haven' had the time to try it out. It's one of those fringe services, and it's hard to take time from the endless parade of PS2's and Xboxes to play around with the NGPC.

I've read about someone who hacked the backlight out of an SP screen, and used that. I have some shattered SP screens (that still light up), that I hope to use to try it.

Rest assured I'd post, if I ever get around to it. =) I'd like one myself.

I wish you luck finding the time (spot the ulterior motive!). I hope the SP screen works - it'd be a lot cheaper than a bloody afterburner, that's for sure.

Gunpei Yokoi would defile your final creation, and everything your family created if he had the chance.

I've put the Afterburner in NGPC's and Wonderswans.

It's about the same amount of work as putting them in a GBA.

Never looked at hacking broken SP's and harvesting the light. Hmmmm

Yopkoi would have jumped at the chance to affordably put in a frontlite.

    Carry on.

Wouldn't the highly reflective liquid crystal cause too much glimmer?

Not at the expense of battery life. Then again, he'd probably find a way to engineer it so that wouldn't be a factor.
