    Default Best version of Tetris?

There's been a lot, which is the best?

I kind of like both Tetris DX and Magical Tetris Challenge for Game Boy Color.

Anyone played Magical Tetris Challenge for N64? How is it?
Mostly just play Nintendo 64. If you've got games PM me! Cart only.

While not techinically the best conversion, I gotta say Tetris Worlds on Xbox was the most fun for me personally, if only because of online play and voice chat. Really chill alternative to blowing the shit out of teenagers with a machine gun.

I'm probably on my own here, but I really liked the licensed NES version. I just played it to the point that the other console versions seemed "off" somehow. And I've never owned a Gameboy of any sort so yeah...

Original gameboy version, but played on the GB color to give it a little color and a nicer screen view. You can't beat the original music.

ive yet to play DX on GBC, but i hear that is the best version out there. if it is a minor upgrade to the original B&W, then it would pretty much have to be

i also enjoyed sega tetris on the dreamcast

    tetris + monkeys = fun

I'd have to go with The New Tetris on N64, followed by The Next Tetris on PSX. There's just something about those variations.

But if you want pure old school Tetris fun without gameplay addons, I'd have to go with the B&W Game Boy version. Tengen follows closely.
RIP bargora, you will be greatly missed. That is how we do things on Giedion Prime.

The New Tetris on N64 is amazing, though the music is sadly weak (especially compared to Tetrisphere, which isn't nealry as good but has a fantastic soundtrack). It's my favorite home version of the game, especially when playing multiplayer.

Tetris GB is the best handheld version. The scoring system was perfect and the block physics were great. DX borked both of them up and added some weird bugs. When it comes to "pure" tetris, Tetris GB is where it's at.

Tetris Grand Master is pure and complete sex. I hope we get TGM Ace in the US at some point, because I LOVE the series. It's too bad Arika asked Mamedev to remove TGM2 from MAME, but at least TGM is still in there (and in Zinc) for all to enjoy. I love the insta drop, piece look ahead, hidden scoring modes, ranking system, music, graphics, etc etc etc. If TGM Ace is as good as TGM 1 and 2, then it'll easily top The New Tetris as my favorite version of the game. (never played TGM3 since I think the nearest arcade with any TypeX stuff is about 2000 miles away)

I forgot all about Tetrisphere. It's not as good as the original but I played plenty of it back in 99 or so. Definitely worth wasting a few hours on.
