I just bought a complete copy of this game and it has 3d glasses with it and I'm wondering if they are the original ones. Does anyone know what they are supposed to look like?
Thanks
Here you go...
3D WorldRunner uses the same.
I'm currently adding the finishing touches to my Rad Racer review which will be posted here in the near future. Awesome game.
I should also note that the Japanese version (Highway Star) used support for the Famicom 3D glasses insead of the standard blue and red crap we got. The Famicom 3D glasses were similar to the SegaScope 3D glasses that Sega released for the Master System - where each side would flash opaque and clear along with a similar image on the TV screen and did a decent job at creating a very early 3D / VR experence. There were a few games on the Famicom that took advantage of them.
Also just for completeness, Rad Racer II was a US only development and release.
There was an offer in the Nintendo Fun Club News where you could send in for a "permanent" (ie; plastic frames) set of 3D glasses for Rad Racer.
I remember them being yellow.
Has anyone beat this or 3-D WorldRunner in 3-D?
anyone have a picture of the yellow glasses.Originally Posted by Wavelflack

I'll look through some old NFCN issues and see what I can find.
Here they are (from issue 4, with Tyson on the cover)
heh..
I didn't realize I scanned it at that resolution.
Awesome! Who wants to sell me some?
Awesome! I assume that this means that the first releases of Rad Racer did not come with its own 3-D glasses? That could explain why there is a black manual variant for the game...
I'm always looking for new boxed NES accessories. If you've got any for sale, shoot me a PM!
I'm pretty sure that every US release of Rad Racer and WorldRunner came with the black 3D glasses in the box.
