I have regular rca hook ups for my dc and n64, if i get s-video will it be an upgrade from the factory wires? Another question, i dont have the upgraded expansion ram for the n64 would it be worth it even if i dont have the games it was meant for?

Yes, if you get the S-video cables it will be an upgrade (provided your TV has an S-video input).
The N64 expansion RAM is only necessary for the games that support it. Since there are a dozen or so good games that do support it (Perfect Dark, Excitebike, Quake 2 to name a few) then IMO there is no reason to not get it.
Yea my system selector has s for all outputs, so ill probably get them updated, Thanks
S-Video is definitely a step up from the standard RCA jacks. Just keep in mind that if your selector is not plugged into an s-vid on your tv, that plugging an s-vid game system into it is pretty much pointless.
S-video is a HUGE upgrade, and I highly recommend it.
As for the expansion pak, some people claim they see a difference even in games that don't support it, but it's probably just wishful thinking. It is good for a lot of games, though, BUT not all. The high-res modes some games have absolutely kill the frame rate, like in Castlevania: Legacy of Darkness. In those cases, you're better off not using high-res mode even if it doesn't look quite as nice.
