My Gaming Collection (Now at Google Drive!)
Lol. Famitsu's scores are worth jack-shit these days.
Not to say I won't purchase the game; I definately will. It's just that I'm not expecting an "OMG WTFZORZ FAMITSU ORGAMSM !!!! 111 LEET +1 BEST GAME EVARRRR" experience.
While i don't share unwind's desire for the game or cynicism of Famitsu's scoring, i must say i'm rather impressed by the score. Especially given the fact that you can't skip any cutscene's ever.
It'll be interesting to see how the fanboys respond to this news.
Final Fantasy lost its soul after 7.
<Evan_G> i keep my games in an inaccessable crate where i can't play them
I'm gonna give this game a try. I skipped IX, X, X2 and XI so I kind of excited to get a new FF on release for once.
This is my last chance for FF, I hope they pull all the stops, and did a good job this time.
I am pumped for this game
I have been looking forward to it for the longest time
The demo is still pretty bizarre imo but it looks like it will be a great game,
we will see.

The last game they gave a perfect score to was complete garbage.
Yeah, that's right Nintendogs, you suck.
Mostly just play Nintendo 64. If you've got games PM me! Cart only.
Im actually looking forward to FF12 Im sure it will be better than FFX'x lame boring story and generic characters.
The last Final Fantasy that I liked was 9 on PSX of course 7 is overrated by the masses of new gamers that started out with the PSone but hey they dont know any better and it was and still is a great game IMO Im thinking that FF12 could be better than any of the FFs since FF3 on SNES-U.S.
i thought the demo was clunky at best. critics complain about random battles, but even with random battles, FF is still the best selling RPG series on the market
if it aint broke, dont fix it
i actually liked X, they removed the ATB and gave you a system where you could plan your strategy according to the order of turns.

On topic, I'm looking forward to this, but I don't have that much hope for it for a couple of reasons.
1) I am absolutely positive that they will not include the original Japanese voiceovers with subtitles. It's all there, you're translating it anyways, I don't see the problem. If you would stop with the ginormous prerendered cutscenes (which I enjoy immensely) you'd be able to fit both languages on one disc. If X was one disc, and DQ8 can be one disc, XII can be one disc.
2) The actors and dialog are going to be as shitty as they were in X (except Auron, he was fucking awesome). I have no faith that the team working on this can localize it at anywhere near the quality the team who did DQVIII did. It was downright flawless, very believable characters, excellent voice acting (for the most part), and most importantly, the actors fit their roles. I don't think Tidus was supposed to be a 6 year old girl but thats how he turned out in the English version.
Famitsu lost all credibility with me when they gave Nintendogs a perfect score. Sorry but.... no.
Anyway, play asia should be shipping my FF12 in the next day or two. I'm one of the biggest FF nuts on the planet, not one of the main-line (1-10 and X-2) games has disappointed me. Yes I like 8. And 10. And 2 (NES). I loved X-2. So even though I was hugely disappointed with the demo that came with DQ8, my expectations (or is it hopes?) are still high that FF12 will entertain me and amaze me just like the other eleven had (Final Fantasy Online, er, "XI", is not a real FF, plus it's crap even as far as MMOs go X-2 is the REAL Final Fantasy 11 to me).
I always have my eye on what Famitsu rates their games'. Personally I think they do a great job and we have to keep in mind that Japanese gamers have a totally different flavor when it comes to video games. So I'll definately check it out to say the least. I mean, the other 5 games that got 40/40 were all DEFINATELY great!
The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time - N64
Soul Calibur - DC
Vagrant Story - PS
The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker - GC
Nintendogs - DS
Final Fantasy XII - PS2
I mean, most of the time we don't get the same experience that the Japanese gamers do, especially if it's an RPG. Just because Nintendogs' is questionable does that make their review system flawed? After all there is no true review, it's all opinions for the most part.
