Halfway through World 2 right now. I'm having a blast with this game. It's been entirely TOO long since the last 2-D Mario platformer.

Snapple, I was a bit concerned at first too, but then I figured that once you beat the game once, you might be able to save at any time. It would kind of be silly of Nintendo not to include a save feature to save your collectables if they expect you to backtrack through the levels later on.

Edge had an interview with Mayimoto (sp?) last month where he implied that New SMB would be a little on the easy side. It is supposed to appeal to people who may have played the original SMB and then got out of gaming as it became more complex.

My thoughts? It's definitely easy so far (but so was the original SMB in the early stages), but it is pure bliss to play. I have waited a long time for this and it seems to be worth the wait.

Okay, I'm just being lazy, but does anyone have a link to a good site for Super Paper Mario info?

I'm enjoying this game immensely. I'm only playing a few levels a day so I can just soak it up in small bites

The minigames are kinda fun as well, great package!

Finally a reason to pull Tetris DS out of the system

So, did any of you NSMB owners happen to purchase your game from Circuit City? The Sunday add specifically stated that it wouldn't be out on store shelves until 5 PM on the 17th, but I've heard conflicting arguments, especially at CAG. Some are saying it would be out no shelves today (16th).

Basically, I'm asking in hopes to save myself some gas from an uneccessary car trip tommorrow. I can't wait until 5 PM, as I'll be at work then and won't get out until 11:00.

Oh, yeah! I completely forgot they named one of them "Morton Koopa, Jr." Damn, that got dated fast. Free nickles to anyone who can remember the '80s pop celebrity being riffed.

(* Side note: Back in high school, simple "insult" games on computers were popular, where basically you and the computer trade insults. I actually did write a short BASIC program on an Apple IIe featuring Mort. Okay, it was a boring class.)

I did, came to just under $30 with tax.

And Daniel, Morton Downey Jr. was more than an 80's pop celebrity...he was an idol (well, ok, maybe just to me...but I spent many a night up watching his show when I shouldn't have been)! I kind of wish he were still around, I bet he'd be a lot of fun on TV today...

On world 6 now, got about 85% of all the coins so far and about half of the "2nd exits". Really short and easy game so far but it will be totally replayable like the rest of the Mario games .

Loving it. It is so refreshing to play a new Mario sidescroller. I've beaten the first world and yet I have not seen the Koopa Kids yet. Was that idea scrapped or will I see them later?
There was a letter in the most recent issue of Nintendo Power asking about the Koopa Kids being in New SMB. Nintendo said that the Koopa Kids are not in the game, and the reason that Takashi Tezuka said they were going to be in an interview was due to a mistranslation or a misunderstanding. He probably thought that the interviewer was asking about "Bowser Jr"...who seems to be the only Koopa Kid there is as far as Nintendo is concerned. :/

I'm still really looking forward to buying this game. I just don't have a DS yet! :P

Picked it up last night, spent about an hour with it,.... and it's OK. Just OK so far. I've only gone through the first two worlds, but in general, I've found it easy and predictable. Most of the hidden stuff hasn't been terribly well hidden and the star coins are all pretty straight-forward.

That said, I found it enjoyable and expect it to get more difficult/challenging/less predictable as it goes on. My only question is, like in SMBW, do the level "dots" on the map help indicate multiple exits, or do you just have to guess? Maybe that's part of the challenge!

I'm not finding this game *that* easy. Extra lives are abundant and I'm never going to run out, but I'm up to World 5 now and I bet I've died 15 times at least. Most of them were from dumb jumps, but still...

I actually got the "Game Over" screen on World 4 (I warped forward, but went back to play through the previous worlds. I could easily have finished the level with no trouble, but I wanted the damn star coins and it ended up kicking my ass over, and over, and over...

I picked the game up yesterday (along with a used copy of AstroBoy GBA ... another awesome game) and I played the two of them kind of all day, so I forgot to come on here and post. Lucky me that I had yesterday and today off. Anyway, loving it so far, and the visual style is much nicer than I expected.

I dont particulatly care for the wall jump. It is counter intuitive to press towards the wall to jump away from it.

Not at all. It is like you are pushing into the wall, to gain the momentum and strength to push off it.

I bought it yesterday and have to say I'm very underwhelmed. I think I've officially fallen out of love with Nintendo.

Hate the name too, but whatrugonnado...
