(no 'official' console name yet though)

Rev's virtual console is going to be awesome.

I'd have to see some pic/vidz of it before I'm all "bang -a - hoe" for it.

Unless you take it to be the "Nintendo Go" from that presentation slide leaked earlier today.

good god, I mean can the revolution possibly get any better?? I would have never expected in a million years to see tg-16 games on the rev... Sega porting genesis games seems alot more likely, but holy shit, this will be the greatest with NEC and Hudson on board. Mark this up as yet another reason I cant wait for the revolution.

Hopefully it will include many of the NEC games that didn't make it to America, and not Duck Tales and Tailspin...

Plus it depends on the pricing structure...

I really think that they need to just leave the name of the console at, "Revolution." It just seems logical to do so. Everyone knows it by that name, and it seems to fit the console quite well.

This whole Virtual Console thing is really starting to intrigue me. It seems that Nintendo is taking a very iTunes music store kind of stance with this. Who knows? Maybe we will be sending these "virtual games" to some sort of new Gameboy in the future. You know, like an iPod+iTunes kind of thing?

The virtual console stuff makes me happy, but news of the new Zelda makes me want to do a dance!
I only need 2 more NES games (US)!

While it doesn't really make be any more interested then i already am, it certainly is a nice addition. It should do a lot to boost the old Sega fans into buying one.

    Thanks for the link, Mayhem.

When I first watched the video, I was a tad unimpressed. It looks quite rough around the edges, in my opinion, but I'm sure it is a way off a release.

If the video is anything to go by... where is this unique control method that we've been told would be used? Using the stylus to draw lines...? Do me a favour.

I'm sure it'll be good, but I want to hear more - a teaser video is not enough.

I didn't expect to be impressed, but I was. Looks good and utilizs the stylus well. I might have to check that one out!

Could do without that childish yell sound, though.

Well, I did, but I expected it to be from hacking and emulation, I must say I am impressed with the direction the big N is headed in.

If Dreamcast and Master System games are thrown into the mix, I'm sold.

    BIGGG UPDATE to this topic!

Follow-up with yesterday's announcement of supporting PC-Engine/Turbografx and Genesis game software via virtual console on Revolution, Nintendo confirmed that PC-Engine/Turobgrafx CD-ROM2 gameswill be supported, but no confirmation on Mega-CD/Sega-CD games yet.

    S...S...Sega...CD..on...revol...ution.

    S...S..Snatcher.....on both SuperCD...and Sega..cd...

my trousers have just gone sticky.

It's back to a 2 horse race for me between Nintendo and Microsoft.

That news just made me more eager to get my hands on my Revolution.

Now, the question is, will they follow M$ and Sony's lead and make the Revolution a worldwide simultaneous launch?
Or do I just import a JPN console?

If Nintendo's smart, they'll push for release of everything on Virtual Rev. Everything. It's going to happen eventually, as XBox Live Arcade shows, and it's only a matter of time. Videogame Heaven. Where all the great classics go when they die, and live forever.

Let me play every videogame ever made, with online multiplayer and worldwide high scores, and come up with a good monthly price for it all, and I'll grab a Rev on day one. Hell, I won't even ask for new games. Just gimmie my Tempest 2K and multiplayer MULE.

Does Nintendo even own the money to maintain so many titles, though? Not only that, but they would need to ask the permission of so many companies...
