I wouldn't do anything in terms of "rarity". How many times have people speculated games value to rise and been right? If you're into games for an investment, you are in the wrong hobby. 99% of them drop to a fraction of their retail cost after a few years, and only a handful of those rise.

For a little experiment, I would definitely stick ICO and/or Wander and the Collossus in my capsule, just to see if they have any type of impact on gaming in general. Both feature something that far too many games don't. Light story, heavy gameplay, and (this one is very key) almost no music. 5 years ago I would've done the same for Shenmue, but based on the first 5 years after it's been out, it has had little or no impact on market, unfortuantely.

    Odama for it's uniqueness.
You don't have to be smart, you don't have to have all the facts, you just have to be confident.

Wow, you're an asshole! I feel bad for everyone that knows you! I vote for sticking your rude, worthless ass in a time capsule.

EDIT: Despite your assholier-than-thou attitude, I can't disagree with your choices as to what to put in the time capsule. Those are good games for classic, uniqueness and rising value.

For historical novelty's sake, I'd say put in one from the Harvest Moon series. It might not be too rare, but how many small farms are still going to be around 30 years from now? People will be shocked to learn that food didn't always come from a factory. Heh.

If you're looking for an investment grade game (which is the sound of it) Well it's a crap shoot. I say find a "rareish" RPG for the PS2 and put it aside. Or what you could do is take that 40 dollars (roughly) invest it in the stock market or mutual fund and in thirty years, it'll be worth about 800 dollars.
