    Default genesis usb port mod

While looking on how to add composite ports to a Genesis, I found this site:

    http://zero.navi.cx/gallery/v/hardware/genesis-mod/

There's no text on the page, just an image gallery, but they added a usb port to a genesis. How cool At first I thought they were going to use it to load roms from a hard drive or something, but I think they're just using it to use usb gamepads with it. Has anyone seen anything like this before?

I don't understand what you mean about adding composite ports to a Genesis. It can display composite video the way it is. You just need to buy the cable.

But if one can't find that cable anywhere, an alternative might be to install some direct-out RCA ports in the Genny, like on an early Playstation, thereby eliminating any need for the unique Genesis composite cable. That's what I'm guessing the video part of this mod is about, just based on the pictures.

Very, very clever... but why bother?

I just want to add my own RCA output, plus I can't find the cable around anywhere, other than the internet.

I'm more interested/confused in the USB port.
