Yup, another reason why people go "IT'S A PIRATE, IT'S WORTHLESS!!" It's not worth huge money but doesn't show up that often for sale especially stateside.Originally Posted by Blitzwing256

Pricey? I paid maybe 15 bucks for it on eBay (it was one of the first FC games I bought).Originally Posted by Blitzwing256
oh I also was going to mention, alot of the cheaper famicom converters you get out there have a two short pin connector on them (espeically the sachen ones) and you just might not be getting a very good connection on the games . I've noticed its mostly with pirate carts not fitting,
as someone else has suggested you might want to grab yourself a copy of stackup and use the converter inside that to test the games out (i;'ve never found a working cart that didn't function with that converter)
InsaneDavid's tutorial advises strongly against using Stack-Up, which is a tad pricey, even by itself. Use Gyromite instead-the game is like a friggin' weed.Originally Posted by Blitzwing256
NO! STOP!! I never said anything about gutting a StackUp cartridge, do NOT gut a StackUp cartridge for a converter - there are many more common carts to get them out of. Not all that many StackUps were made to begin with compared to the other carts with the converter hardware.Originally Posted by Blitzwing256
On the other hand no copy of Gyromite went out without a R.O.B. (either in the original launch bundle or the huge boxed R.O.B. accessory kit) so all those loose copies of Gyromite have been seperated from their R.O.B.s or their R.O.B.s have been junked at one point. Her mate be lost, her future lies on the path of being a converter. But don't kill a poor StackUp.
I realize that the experts have already identified these games but here's a heads up for others who have non-pirate Famicom games to identify. They're all listed in the DP Online Rarity Guide and you can search for them using the part number listed on the cart (HVC-XX or whatever).

stackup is a bit rarer then gyromite, but loose copies are a dime a dozen, and i've never ever found one without a converter in it.
a complete copy is a real bitch to find, but yeah its just easier to get one out of it then "weighing" every gyromite you come across.
That's because StackUp never had a NES board revision, they were all Famicom boards with converters.Originally Posted by Blitzwing256

THATS WHY i MENTIONED THAT IT WAS THE EASIEST ONE TO FIND A CONVERTER IN.
