I love the way previous generation games plummet in prices when newer tech rolls out. I'm probably going to pick up twice as many PS2 and Xbox games this year as I did last year and pay less doing so

I sure do. This is not the time to pick up all of those Xbox games that I was unsure of 1 or 2 years ago for on the cheap. Gamestop i/ EB in particular has lowered their prices on games recently that they have too many of.

Games that I have not played, that recently have hit rock bottom prices, and everyone says they are good.

Splinter Cell
Mech Assault
Midnight Club 3
etc.
etc.

This is what will keep me in the current generation. I don't need a 360 right now when I have so many other good games that I've missed on original Xbox.

Splinter Cell

With a little bit of luck, you should be able to find all three Splinter Cell games for ~$30 on Xbox. Damned awesome series and pretty comperable to the Thief series but with more of a modern theme.

Well since most of these games are early titles (or early XBox Live titles) it's not TOO surprising. Not to mention the Best of Platinum Hits has dropped down the SplinterCells and some other games to 9 bucks new.

All great games though, that there is no question.

I went to the gamestop in the collge town I am in, and that didn't go quite as well.

Here's what I hoped on getting:
Panzer Dragoon for 10 bucks
Brute Force for 3
Deus Ex for 4
Armed and Dangerous for 5

Here's what I'll end up with:
Brute Force 3

I bought everything but Panzer Dragoon in store ( when I realized it had no book ), and when I got the games, I realized I got some generic black case from hollywood video for armed and dangerous, and they took the book from me! The deus ex case and book are good, but the game is scratched beyond belief. Brute Force has the book, and the disc is in very good condition, but the green case has a chunk missing.

So, tommorrow deus ex and armed and dangerous are going back, unfortuantely. Eventually I'll pick up some green dvd cases to replace the Brute Force one. Needless to say, I'm pretty dissapointed

If you've got a blockbuster near you... what am i saying, of course you have a blockbuster near you, you can just ask them if you can snag any spare green xbox cases they might have. When I worked there we threw out hundreds of DVD cases every week and often there were plenty of xbox cases in there too. I took 30 or 40 but now I'm pretty low.

Head in there on a monday or tuesday, varies from store to store.

$3 for that game? Talk about a score. I've been meaning to get around to buying the original Xbox but I just don't have the green for it. If original Xbox games are seeing major price slashes, I hope a price cut on the original system won't be too far off.

haven't noticed any significant price drops in used games in my area. Hopefully they will start droping with with the arrival of more next gen games and systems.
