You can use a small flathead precision screwdriver to open GBA's. Just use one small enough to fit into the screwhead and it will grip enough to remove the screws. Unless you're going to be opening dozens of them (like when I was doing A-GBA mods) then just use that instead. Back when people were installing Afterburners I would usually tell them to save their money and use use a small precision screwdriver since they were only going to do so once. In fact I just fixed an A-GBA and didn't have my tri-wing bits so that's what I used. You can get them anywhere that sells tools (including discount stores) or you may have one already.
Can that be used for N64s too?Originally Posted by InsaneDavid
No, to open an N64 you need a gamebit of the proper size, it's like a hollowed out hexagon. A tri-wing screw is just what the name implies, if a flathead screwdriver has two wings and a phillips has four, a tri-wing has three. Make sense?Originally Posted by Fastbreak198
You need to use special bits to remove the N64 screws as well as NES cartridge screws, etc. look around on eBay for a multitool kit similar to this one...

That's a review I wrote of the toolkit I mainly use, make sure that it includes the bits to open what you need. (NES, N64, etc.) Oh yeah, I've since found a use for the "tuning fork" bits, they open NES power adapters. Now that kit includes tri-wing bits but they are NOT small enough to open GBA's.
Sorry for sidetracking the thread, demonofaj. :/ Hope I've given you some information though.
Hey, demonofaj, I wonder what you're up to this time.
How much are you asking for the 2nd controller on the Super Joy 3?
Donno, bout 2-5 dollars, whatever rocks your boat. I can't get that damn GB open! :P So I'm gonna fall in and buy one...so please, a modder in need..!
Bump, I'll pay 5 bucks, STRAIGHT!

If you're willing to spend that much look up triwing screwdriver on ebay, with BIN and shipping you'll spend around thereabouts.Originally Posted by demonofaj
