In my opinion, I would say no, mainly becuase you will probaby not get anything near to what you paid for it. But on the other hand if you think you will never ever play it again and it will sit there and collect dust, it may be a good idea to give it a good loving home where it will see some use. (I did this with my xbox soon after I bought my 360, I sold it to a close friend for a decent price.
Id sell it, since there is a price drop coming up (check gamespot) Get your money's worth NOW
I haven't played my Gamecube since January. That's because it's crap.
The Nintendo fanboys (seemingly most of the people here) will probably attack me now.
You'd get what, $20-$35? Why bother? It's a nifty system, and I'm sure down the road some GameCube game won't work that well on the Revolution and people will begin realizing that maybe the GameCube is worth it for that reason alone.
Not to mention Zelda man, depending on when it releases you might have to wait to play it if you wait for the Revolution (or Wii, whatever).
Mostly just play Nintendo 64. If you've got games PM me! Cart only.
Sounds like a future doorstop to me.Originally Posted by Joker T

@Fibblewith, have you sold it yet. seems like a waste to own somthing you don't enjoy...
Good point.Originally Posted by Happy_Dude

I may as well get back into them tonight...
Just a piece of advice
I sold my NES to get a SNES.
I sold my SNES to get an n64.
I sold my n64, well, just for cash.
I did this all my non-nintendo systems too. I really regret it.
It probably ended costing me more money to get my collection back then to get it originally (since some of my games I got cheap originally became rare).
This is a glorious time for the cube. Not because there's anything new coming down, but instead because there's a lot of software being sold dirt cheap! Lots of great games that instead of selling the system, go buy them and give them a whirl. A lot of shops (and people) are getting rid of their current-gen stuff in anticipation for next-gen. Take advantage of that. I know I am
To say that the cube is crap doesn't really help. I haven't ever played an XBOX. Does that mean it's crap? Nope, just means that I haven't ever purchased one, since he aready has one, and the trade in value is very little, I say hang onto it, down the line the collector part of you will collect some games that the gamer part of you wants to play.Originally Posted by Fibblewith
I kind of see a sort of PSX/PS2 situation for the Gamecube down the road, where people will still develop Cube games simply because it's compatable with the Wii (almost typed Revolution there ). And since both systems are very similar in architecture and programming, it'd probably be easy for a developer to develop some cheap Cube games on the side of bigger projects. I mean, that Tomb Raider Gamecube announcement came out of the blue, so who's to say nothing else may appear down the line?
But on topic... I'd keep it, if only for the reason that if you change your mind later on, it might be hard to find one in decent condition for a good price.
I know what you mean. I've been considering selling mine off as well because I only really play the Naruto fighting games, RE 4, and Paper Mario Thousand Year Door. The gamer part of me doesn't logically see much use in keeping the system to play 5-6 games. but the collector in me wants to keep it. The only reason I have kept it so long is because I know I'm not going to get much out of selling it anyway. I just wish I was getting more use out of it.Originally Posted by Joker T
After the next price drop comes you'll be lucky to get $30 or so for a working system. Like someone else said, if you're going to sell it, sell it quick. What I'd probably do is give it to a younger cousin or maybe a less fortunate kid or something. There are lots of kids out there who would kill for a Gamecube and a couple of games.
How well do you like the games for the system? Do you not play it because you're not a fan of the games, or because you don't have enough of them?
I think the way to look at it is do you really have games that
you dont want to part with? and does the hardware mean that
much to you?
What I mean is if the Rev is backwards compatible and you
dont use or GC for the Gameboy player then I see no real
reason to keep the system if you dont want to.
Me personally while I dont play it all that much id never part with
either of mine, but i do use the gameboy player so Id like to
keep it for its usefullness hardware wise.
But if the Hardware is useless to you then I say get some money for it, keep the games, if any and buy some Weee.
Oh and while on the topic of the GCN, it has done so poorly
here in Australia I have been able to sell them to customers
for the cheap price of $99.95AUD for 12 months now and
yet still probably sold 8 to 10 in total.
zomg I have a sig
Sell it? The GameCube is the best video game console ever made. I'm serious.
Its compact cube form is awesome.
So sayeth the guy with the Nintendo avatar.
If you have something else in mind that you want, then sell the Gamecube. There is no sense just having something laying around collecting dust if you don't intend on collecting for it.
<Evan_G> i keep my games in an inaccessable crate where i can't play them
Ive always liked the Gamecube its a great and highly underrated system BUT it just doesnt have a large enough game library to keep most gamers happy.
I sold my Gamecube 6 months ago and while I loved Metroid Prime im suprised at how I dont even notice not having a GC anymore
I do plan on getting a cheap Gamecube just to play the new Zelda and get my REs and Metroid Primes back but thats it.
I could spend an hour typing a long post saying how wrong you are but then you'd just call me a fanboy and the argument will go back and forth and get heated and really really stupid, so I'll just say.Originally Posted by Fibblewith

Sorry, but someone had to say it. Everyone else is just being polite. So I'll take the heat. :/
Bring it on. Oh yeah. Bring it.
How much do you expect to get for it? And what if you find some games for it in a yard sale for dirt cheap? Then you'll regret it.
I'm keeping mine, i know that. There is plenty of reason to keep it.
