Today I returned to the Salvation Army where I found a 5200 haul last week and unconvered the missing Wico Y-cable. I still can't believe they charged me $5 for it.

Also picked up a shrinkwrapped copy of Lightspeed, one of my favorite PC games of all time. Now I can replace my original opened copy (which is now for sale, by the way).

went to probably 20 store yesterday with hezeuschrist. thrifts, EBs, GameStops, GameCrazys, GameRushs, more thrifts.... you name it. didn't really find all that much. the Dr. Mario was a score... i need 4 more NES classics to complete the subset.

my personal prize in there is the Punisher PC game. i have yet to check if the disks are still good.... but the punisher was my favorite comic growing up, and i have a big emotional attachment to anything punisher related. just the documentation that came with the thing is awesome....

Its not homemade, apparently it is an officially licensed Nintendo Product with a copyright date of 1988

Well, it looks pretty cool. What size is it? Can it fit an adult in it?

Hmm, that's interesting - they make a lot of the plush toys that end up in US crane games (CHALLENGE-R, etc.).

Yeah I couldn't find anything on the net about this at all.

It has a plush lining, and is made for a child.

Oh right. It probably wouldn't be too hard to make one if you get someone who's good with a sewing machine to do all the hard work for you. It would be like a large plushie stuffed animal with foam blocks.

I'm interested in all the Nintendo merchandise from the 80s/early 90s. There's just so much of it.

Not a whole lot of stuff sitting around at the flea market. I just barely missed on a boxed ALttP for the SNES...

The good news though is I picked up 8 NES titles at $2 a pop, 1 SNES title at $3, and one boxed Genesis title, also $3. The River City Ransom cart made my day as I've been looking for that one for some time now.

Been a longtime lurker, but haven't really had any finds worthy of posting until now. These were all acquired (from various places) over the last week 1/2.

Scored this VCS at a VV for $10.00. It's in great shape cosmetically, and works like new. My two existing 2600s both have video issues of one sort or another, so I'm pretty happy with this pickup.

The three NES games are complete (instructions, inserts, posters, styrofoam blocks, etc.), and with the exception of Gauntlet, look like they've rarely been played. I was particularly stoked to find Contra! Total cost = $1.99 each at GW. The two Atari games were $.99 each at another VV, and the complete Dragon Quest IV ($12.81 shipped off of Ebay) is for....

This also came from Ebay. Been looking for one of these little guys for awhile, and found a buy it now that I couldn't pass up ($20.00 shipped). Works great (after a bit of cleaning), and even came with an AV mod!

Finally, my big score. Found this TG16 lot at a local GW. My wife and I stopped in after work, 15 minutes before closing, and found everything sitting in a pile on a shelf with various electronic junk. Total cost = $20.00

    Arrived in the mail yesterday:

    NES:
    Life Force (loose) - trade

    Thanks Fuyukaze!

I'm pretty happy to finally have Life Force in my collection,
as it holds quite a bit of sentimental value for me - it was
the first shmup I ever played. It also puts me at 20 NES games.

Here are some recent finds from May:

Those Genesis games, "Cool Spot" and "We're Back: A Dinosaur's Tale" are what I like to call "time capsule games." Who even remembers those franchises? "We're Back" was a children's movie, and the Spot was a mascot for 7-Up. These NES games were from a flea market for $10 dollars, total.

Now, here are some finds that I never got around to posting until now. I should mention that some of these are from April as well.

    NES GAMES:

    Revenge of the Three Kingdoms
    Burai Fighter
    Flying Warriors
    SMB/Duck Hunt/World Class Track Meet
    BurgerTime
    Bomberman
    Castlequest
    Star Wars
    Star Tropics
    Mission Impossible
    Mach Rider
    MegaMan4
    Street Fighter
    Uninvited
    Battletoads
    Yoshi's Cookie
    Super C
    Clash at Demonhead

Here are some complete games I found at a local used bookstore:

I also found these at the same store. These had the original instruction booklets and those cool plastic Nintendo cases.

Here's a bunch more Genesis games I've acquired here and there (mostly thrift shops):

I found this boxed NES at a flea market. It works much better than my original one, and it still had all of its cool posters and documentation. I'll just put my old NES in this box and keep it stored there for the remainder of its retirement:

Here are a couple last-gen fighters. Dig that long jewel case for the "Battle Arena Toshinden":

Finally, here are some random PS and DC games I found. Some of these aren't exactly RARE, but they are definitely hard to find in the wild, and I found most of them for about a dollar. I also picked up this complete "Perfect Dark" to FULLY complete my old copy:

So, there you have it. Thank you for your time.

I'm not into commodore 64 at all, but i picked up a game called Oil Barons by Epyx. I have searched for this but haven't found much on it. Can anybody give me an estimate of it's rarity and value? It is complete with the box, disk, instructions, the board, and ALL of the little game pieces. Maybe I can get a pic of it up over the next few days.

    at the swap meet:
tecmo bowl w/ box, manual, sleeve and styrofoam-$5
"racing feature" 15 in 1 plug-and-play controller. it comes with an adaptor that connects the headphone-style jacks that come out of the controller with RCA-style jacks that you can plug into the TV.-$1

the games are 8-bit level takeoffs on different types: there's a motorcycle racing game, a xevious-type game, a side-shooter, a bump 'n' jump style game, and so on. a random neo-famicom vibe.
