I detest the PS2 controller for fighting games, so I'd say DC by default.
I only need 2 more NES games (US)!

I'd say PS2. If you dont like the controller, get a nice fighting stick.

i'm not sure if this is accurate, as i've haven't tried either the ps2 or the xb versions, but i understand they both suffer from a little bit of random slowdown that the dc version does not.

what i do know is that capcom fighters on the dreamcast = A+, so i'd go with the dreamcast version any day of the week. plus it's way cheaper.

    Great points.

Thanks guys I really appreciate it.

I'll just get the dreamcast version. Only thing is there's literally 4 copies of the Ps2 version at my ebgames. :eek 2:

If they are in presentable condition, take all of them and put 'em on ebay. They get a crazy price, sometimes around $100.

(I got mine new for $40 the week it came out)

If I remember correctly (though i'm not the figting afficianado) the DC version was the most Acrade True version, so if your going for originality money should go there.
Because it makes no attempt to be great, it is therefore extremely great.

I think the Dreamcast version's perfectly fine if you're able to track one down, but..

That's exactly what I was thinking. You should just grab a copy or two (keep a couple there for somebody else who may want one) to sell off for more games. Trust me, it'll work. After all, I sold a sealed copy of the Xbox version around this time last year and made close to hundred bucks doing so.

Yeah, that's what I heard too. Guess it's because the DC is based of the same hardware the arcade version runs on. That and the fact that the PS2 has sound & animation issues.

Other than Street Fighter 3, right?

And while the PS2 controller sucks for fighting games, I don't understand how anyone could even think of playing a fighting game with the dreamcast controller. Terrible dpad that makes the PS2's little 4 button layout feel comfortable and responsive

That said, i'd probably take either the Dreamcast (since it's a Naomi-based game) version over the PS2 version IF IF IF IF IF IF you have an arcade stick. Failing that, go Xbox.

I say go with the Dreamcast version. THe DC always had a sharper output, while the PS2's visuals were a little mudy for my tastes. And the controller for the DC was made for fighters.

Wasn't there an issue with the resolution of the game? I remember hearing the PS2 version had slightly squished character sprites.

Hmmm....DC is the way to go with that game. It really is about arcade perfect.

I've got this great little device that plugs into my DC controller port. It has a port for a Saturn controller, PS1/2 controller, and a PC keyboard (perfect for Typing of The Dead). Oh, on top of all that, it actually has a slot for a VMU.

Picked it up at a local area EB back around '99-'00 for about $25-$30. Great investment! Ah, here's a pic:

DC is the most arcade accurate. Plus alot of bugs/infinites were fixed in the ports to xbox/ps2.

Does anyone know where I can buy one of those DC controller adapters? Or better yet, one that lets you use an Xbox controller on the DC? I can't find any places online that sell them and they are never on Ebay.
