Is there an easy way to remove stickers and glue from boxes without damaging the box? Im thinking of games that have cartboard boxes like NES/SNES etc. Tearing them off might leave nasty marks.

Lighter fluid and cotton buds (Qtips?) gets rid of most gunky residue.
Is it safe to use it or will it damage the box?
I used this method to clean some sticker residue off my Zelda:OoT gold box. Didn't damage the box at all. Just put the lighter fluid on the cotton buds and be very delicate.
Maybe test on one of the end flaps if you're unsure.
Ok, thanks for the tip
I'm hesitant to use any kind of liquids on a game box, mayby a clamshell case but not a cardboard box. I've always used a hair dryer to remove stickers from boxes. The heat loosens up the glue which allows you to peal off the sticker.
You can also use those glue removers you find in offices or mailing stores. Just make sure you only put a tiny amount on a q-tip. In no time it comes right off.
Do you mean goo-be-gone?
Exactly what I do. If there's any gum residue left.. I use Orange Waterless to take that off.. but you have to be fast about it.. because that stuff MAY damage a box's finish the longer you leave it on.Originally Posted by Griking
