That's not it. That's what I tried right off the bat first (because that's what you do with the SCD I & II and X'Eye). If you leave the CDX empty (no cart OR CD game) you get the Sega CD intro screen, then press A,B, or C and you get the CD audio player menu.. but NO memory link (the audio CD player menu.. BTW.. looks totally different from the other models.. much simpler). If you put in a CD game and turn it on.. it, of course.. simply starts the game. If you put in an audio CD and turn it on.. you get.. again.. the audio CD player interface as before, with NO internal memory manager link. But THEN, remove the audio CD and put in a game one and after it scans the CD.. up pops the memory manager link where it wasn't before; and you CAN get into it then.
That's the only way I've found so far.. but I figure there has to be a way to get to it without having to switch out two CDs.
I'm at a loss.
