Has it gotten rare? I've been looking for one for quite some time... Where can I get it?

    Sequel? Awesome!!!

I must admit I am a bit surprised since I thought the original wasn't selling all that great, despite its popularity for importers. Then again, I thought I read (GamesTM, maybe?) that it was being localized for Europe, so who knows.

I thought the original was a high seller, well, not one of those million seller games but a huge hit for importers. Most exported Japanese game by far I reckon.

Here's the link to the sequal, Elite Beat Agents. Its the Western version, but all the stories are new, all the songs are different. Therefore its pretty much the same mechanics but a sequal. If you loved the first game then I'm guessing this will be it. There is pretty much no way to localise the original game due to the Japanese songs - the stories came across pretty well despite the language barrier.

I thought I had read that Japanese domestic sales were fairly underwhelming, though. I know everybody I've shown it to has loved it -- several of my non-importing, non-Japanese-speaking friends actually imported it after I showed it to them...

That sequel looks really nice -- just hope they don't pick really shitty songs. Maybe a few mega-hits, a couple of older one-hit wonders....

iNis could still localize the original for the Western markets and keep the original soundtrack -- worked well with the Katamari games... I think the quirky soundtrack on those was one of the big reasons for its success in the west!
