Default There was a SimCity TCG?

I just came across a few references to a SimCity Trading Card Game / Collectable Card Game, circa 1994. Anyone familiar with this?

This CCG was released about the same time as hundreds of other CCGs were desperately trying to catch a bit of the Magic...er, "magic." But, like the Monty Python Holy Grail CCG; Vampire CCG; Mythos CCG; and about a dozen other CCGs I could name, it too vanished into obscurity.

It was beyond terrible, I bought a few cases of it when it went on clearnace for .01 cent a deck or booster.

it did have a few howt chicks on some of the cards, but the game itself was pretty unplayble even by ccg standards.

A Monty Ptyhon CCG? Sounds like a collector's item.

Not remotely. Cool concept, but a flop. Travel through England with your knights and try to locate the grail. Three neat things about the game:
    1. You were encouraged to deface the cards and make up your own. In fact, one card is useless unless you paste your own photo on it.
    2. You actually laid out a "board game" of sorts and moved your knights as you played. So it was kind of a board/CCG hybrid.
    3. Occassionally you had to actually sing songs from the movie or answer these Questions Five (three sir!) Three.

I have about 200 cards, plus boxes, plus instructions that I will gladly ship to you for $30. And I shall make a nice profit from said sale.

I remember getting a Sim City card in an issue of Inquest. It looked kind of neat, but I'm not really surprised it flopped.

I've got a small collection of the Sim City cards. (I think I must have bought a starter deck and a couple of boosters.)

In the early-mid 90's I bought and played the following:

Magic:TG -- have well over 1000 cards, and played a lot.

Other than Magic, I have the following, each of which I've got about the same amount of cards as I do of Sim City - 1 starter plus a couple of booster packs:

    * Sim City - only played a couple of times, didn't really like it.

    * Star Wars - only played a couple of times, but didn't give it enough of a chance - it might be good for all I know.

    * Star Trek - same as Star Wars - might be fun; can't fairly say.

    * Jyhad - not bad, played for a few months

    * Netrunner - I actually liked this one a lot. If I recall correctly, it was strictly a 2-player game, which unfortunately led to me playing it less frequently than I'd have liked, but I definitely enjoyed it. Next time I have the chance, I'll have to refresh myself on the rules and get up a game with a friend of mine.

    Cool post, btw.
