I'd go back in time and shoot myself in the head, thereby creating a paradox that would undo time and existence itself. therefore, don't give me a time machine.

I think I would go back to 1985..Clear out all there good 2600, Intv Games all Complete
2nd Trip, Go to 1997 while they have some used SNES Games, Buy Mega Man X3 Complete & Cart Only..& get more SNES Games, As well some NES & Genesis Games, also Radiant Silvergun from a Import shop
Given those limitations, logically, I'd go back to 1982- MID 1982.
However, I'd have to avoid my relatives, since they might be a bit curious as to a certain obvious thing...
First: the 1981 Intellivision Keyboard Component test markets.
Second: 1997, when 16-bit was being phased out.
1965, and destroy the machine while I'm there. I've always wanted to live thru the 60's 70's and 80's.
I would go back to the time directly after the great video game crash, or rather the big home computer shakeout (to put things in European matters) and buy all the cheap homecomputer stock being sold by closing dealers.
I would go back to 1984, join the atari video club, buy all of the club exclusives 1000x each, then mail commavid, and buy every copy of video life, and magicard, somehow get a hold of men-a-vision, buy all the copies of air raid, buy a billion cans of dog food, get all the copies of chase the chuck wagon, buy tons of bomb games, avalon hill games, all of pandas ripoff games, get all boxed river patrol copies, and get every copy of space chase monogrammed with my initials, so when the ship blows up, I'm a legend, and banking on every copy sold....then warp back home, dig up all of this mentioned stuff, and be on the cover of every magazine, as the best atari collector ever...
#2 non video game related, warp to 1952, buy every pack and wax box, and case of 1952 topps baseball card hi numbers available, and enjoy the mantle rookie 2-3 to a box (being a double print) warp back to 2006 get all the cards graded by psa or bvg, and be a millionaire right away...ok so we can all dream, right?
I would go back to 1993 and convince myself not to ask for an Atari Jaguar for Christmas! Or, even better, not to buy $50 of Atari Stock at the time for $7 a share!
On my 2nd trip, I'd go back to 1993 and further convince myself that Atari is full of crap and never to believe anything that I hear about "64-bit" consoles!
Early 90's so I could relive playing SF2, but actually knowing how to play.
Oh and that arcade where polibius was said to be.
i would go see jesus and find out if he was full of shit or not.
"illusions! he pulled that loaf of bread from his sleeve!"
