Default PAL Megadrive list *Now online*

    Is this being worked on?
I notice the import games section in the Genesis list is rather barren
I've got a modest attempt at a PAL list i've been working on, but it's probably a long way from DP standard. I'd be very happy to offer any knowledge I can though, if needed.

I have a list, but it's WAY out of date. I had compiled it from S magazine issues back in the early 90s I think.

We've always gladly accepted submissions and offered credit in the appropriate sections (even the online lists have been modified with contributors - the book lists all of these people on the inside cover page), so bring 'em on!

    Two requirements:
    1) any lists you submit should contain AT MINIMUM the title and the manufacturer, with some way to separate the two fields (commas are nice)

    2) include your full name somewhere obvious so we can give you proper credit.

    Email these to digitalpress@email.com

Our member HYDR0X was asking about Super Famicom - and if you're reading this, sir, please feel free to send your list along as well. I've gotten some help on this but it's going very slowly. I'd hate to lose the momentum we've got going with the lists, some truly great work is being done on many systems as we speak!

    Thanks to all!

As the more eagle-eyed may have noticed, an initial attempt at a Europe/Japan Megadrive list was added a couple of days ago.
Please treat the current list very much as a version 0.1 - I know it's riddled with minor errors, mislabels and probably a couple of blatant lies, but it's a start. I've almost certainly missed a handful(?) of games at the moment aswell.
I'm beginning the slow task of verifying all the European info, and will probably be asking for help to confirm a few things in coming weeks, but feel free to give me a shout if there's any blatant errors or omissions I've not spotted.
The Japanese info was supplied by a pretty reliable source, but I can be certain about little of the details at the moment. I may look at verifying it all once I'm satisfied with the PAL section, but I'm sure there are others with much more knowledge and experence in this area.

No plans for rarity/pricing (yet )

You forgot one major game on your otherwise excellent list.

    Mega Turrican
    Publisher: Data East
    Published in 1994 (worldwide)
    Creator: Factor 5

This was the only mistake i could find so far, but i´ll keep trying

Many thanks! I remember seeing that one mentioned online, but I didn't know if it was a different game to the (rather poor) Accolade Turrican.
It'll be part of the next update.

I have both games, and they could not be more different.
If you see Mega Turrican, get it! Really impressive graphics for the MD.

Hey, I have checked then list.
    A note:

Robbedoes is the Dutch name for Spirou. It's the same with many of these Infogrames games that the titles are shown on the box in different languages.

If you need any help with license numbers for example, you can e-mail me

Thanks, I've noted it for the next update.
I know there's a few games with alternate titles throughout Europe, but I haven't really looked into it in any detail. I've included a few I've come across, but any more are always welcome.

I found yet another missing game:

    Revolution X
    Publisher: Acclaim
    Creator: Midway
    Released: 1994

    A few more alternate titles:
The Jungle Book/ Das Dschungelbuch (Germany)
Tintin in Tibet / Tintin au Tibet (France)

    I can confirm the following:
    Bloodshot / Battle Frenzy (Germany)
"Blood" in the title of a game, was considerd inapprobriate for the german market. Duh.

    A little spelling correction:
The Smurfs travel the World / Die Schlümpfe reisen um die Welt (Germany)
My guess is, the umlaut won´t be displayed on your screen.

    That´s it for the moment.

The Tintin in Tibet cart has the title on it in many languages.

I found another game missing in the list, I saw it on eBay but can't find it now.

    T2 Terminator 2: Judgment Day

Well, the french version I saw, has only the french title on the cover.

    Thank you, sirs!
I've noted all the additions, and I found the T2 auction (here) aswell.
All assistance is appreciated, and I'm sure there will be a few more that have escaped my attenion so far...

ps. Tintin lists all 6 title variations on the cartridge itself, though I've only seen boxes with the French title. Does anyone know if alternate covers exist? (I'll change the main entry to 'Tintin au Tibet')

well i don't really know but i would bet that the german version had a different box and it's name was Tim in Tibet, as this is the case with the snes version and in fact with all multi-language games on all systems, every game released in germany has in fact german boxes and most have german text since a few years

I think it's better to keep the English name, and note the other language names behind it or something. Otherwise you should change the Smurfs games too and the Spirou box has 'Robbedoes' on the front and 'Spirou' on the side. Otherwise you shoudl list them individually, but since they're the same games I don't think that's the best way to sort them.

BTW, here's a link to the Tintin in Tibet cart
