Cool..Thanks, I just want to know what happens if you use the Game Genie on MM X2 & X3....What hwill happen to the effects because there no extra chips on the Game Genie
Err... I don't think you have to have chips on your Game Genie to make it work with chipped games. The chips are already on the original cart. Perhaps I am confused.Originally Posted by MarioMania
Yeah, I'm confused. I think.
I do love some FX-chipped games, though. Dirt Trax FX is one cool game, as is Star Fox 2. I FINALLY got to play Star Fox 2 as it was meant to be played... on an SNES. Very short but way awesome to see the SNES pumping out simple polygons. I love the way the walker moves. Very cool graphics for a 16-bit system.
Thanks for indulging my gaming habit when I was young, Dad. You were the best. I miss you. ~David Barnes 1926-2007~
I'm not sure what you mean, but it doesn't matter what extra chips are on the cart. The GG is just intercepting the signals between the cart and the console, and altering them. Extra chips on the cart shouldn't affect GG compatability?Originally Posted by MarioMania
Perhaps Mr. Mania is thinking of a copier, which may indeed have problems with games with extra chips?

I'm not thinking of a copier, I'm just asking about the Game Genie, Like if you have Mega Man X2 or X3 in the Game Genie..what effect are taking out because the GG dosn't have the 2 chip in there, I can't really explain it wellOriginally Posted by Jorpho
Ah. CosmicMonkey seems to have addressed that.

Don't certain models of the SNES Game Genie lack the extra pins needed by SFX games?
All SNES Game Genies were missing the extra pins, which were often used by the special chip games. The most popular example is Starfox, but there's a number of others including Super Mario RPG. I'm not sure if MMX2 or MMX3 work.Originally Posted by Kitsune Sniper
They have the extra pins, so I'm sure they don't.Originally Posted by JLukas
