There was no physical US release. But there was a PAL release, which is complete and has Wily Tower.
I have the PAL version and, although some people knock it for some reason, I happen to love it, including the remixed tunes and the new stages. Even to this day, I still play it
I used to have Rockman Megaworld, and I enjoyed that immensely. The timing is a tad different than the NES versions, but the game was a real blast. I loved hearing the NES tunes on the Genesis Yamaha chip the most.
So, if you had a choice between NES originals, or the MD version, what would you guys go for?
I'm really interested by the Wily Tower and the 4 extra robots. But if the NES versions play better, then.....
I dont quite understand the question, are you asking how many copies that were made? This game doesnt excist for Genesis, only Mega Drive.Originally Posted by MarioMania
NES version without a doubt. Playing Mega Man with the Megadrive controller is horrible. Gives me a bad feeling.Originally Posted by CosmicMonkey
The game itself is good, but you cant beat the originals
I agree with Jaja that the NES versions are better, but dont let that deter you from Megaworld/WW. There are a lot of different varieties of Genesis controllers. If you can find one that feels comfortable you can enjoy the game to its fullest.
The extra levels are a bit different than the originals, but the fun part is that you can take 8 weapons from any of the 3 games into the tower, IE metal blades, gemini laser, elec beam. Etc.
I was fortunate enough to have imported it when it first came out and absolutely love it. The originals are better just because they're the originals and have that nostalgic touch (plus you can't do the bird/star background trick in Mega Man 2 on the Wily Wars cart). However, I believe Wily Wars is worth it just for the extra levels. They're setup well, have catchy music, and as mentioned above, being able to pick your load out from the previous games is awesome; sliding and shooting Metal Blades at the SAME TIME? TOO COOL!
I want to get Wily Wars, but the price has been really high on ebay.
No kidding. Does anyone remember that overseas seller from about 6-8 months ago who had 10+ copies and blew them out on ebay, sealed, for about $60 a piece INCLUDING an adaptor? I wonder how he got those.Originally Posted by NickmasterX

I had the oppurtunity to play the game on Sega Channel as a child around 1995 or so, it really bothered me that the game never saw a US release. But... Megaman 6 would've never saw the light of day in the US had Nintendo not convinced Capcom to do so even though the US NES market was dying at that point.
I had Rockman Mega World once, man that was a blast, but I was kind of disappointed with Wily Tower being a tad easy and hyped up a bit too much...the remixes are solid, but it really does make you crave the NES classics a bit more by far.
was he in Italy? I remember seeing a bunch from there.Originally Posted by fishsandwich
I believe Nintendo even published Megaman 6 for Capcom, they must have been trying to fill some software quota for the last year of the NES or somebody at NOA really loved Megaman, bless them.Originally Posted by Carey85
That guy that unloaded all those Wily Wars last year had at least 20-30 copies he dumped onto ebay. It's a fine game in its own right but the control is just a bit off, it seems Megaman wants to lurch a little bit when he takes off from standing still.
I liked the Mega Drive version better then the NES games myself. Although it did feel like there was a bit of lag the improved graphics, added save feature, and new mission are good enough to import the collection.
Indeed he was. I nabbed one at $50 - he sold around a dozen altogether.Originally Posted by NickmasterX
i rember that, i rember going into kb toys a few months after it was released and it was already in the $5 bin...some one referred to that time as the billion cart dump.Originally Posted by Carey85
i scored on that one. and as for origonals or others i would have to go for NES....because i have them all already. i wish i could find the box for 6 i know i have it some place
why Capcom didn't want to release Mega Man 6 even there were still fans on th NESOriginally Posted by Carey85
