    Default FS: Bead Sprites.

For the record, I'm not trying to cut in on any of you in the Game:ART blog, nor is that my intention. I know boatofcar has sold a bunch of his (very cool) lego stuff previously, and I'm sure some of the rest of you have also sold some bead artwork, but it seems to have died down a bit, so I thought I'd sell what I had left while things were a bit calm. Hopefully, I'm not getting in any of your guys' way.

Paypal only please! Shipping for each is $2 for the first, and $1 for each additional. Shipping out of the USA will be determined on a case by case basis. Item prices are set in stone - I make a very minimal profit ($1, give or take a few cents depending on size) on each one, except for the very large stuff (large sets or scenes from games), which takes forever to make. I'm not ashamed to ask for extra money for my time. The rest of the cost goes to supplies (beads, packaging, magnets, etc.).

Each comes in it's own individual packaging, with a high quality printed header card featuring the actual sprite, as well as the game title and the official character/item title. They also come with a self-adhesive magnet, which you can choose to apply or not.

I'll be adding more pictures as I take them. It takes a bit to photograph, crop, resize, and color balance each one.

    Balloon Fight - Balloon Fighter - $6

Legend of Zelda: Link to the Past - Cucco - $5

    SMB 3 (All-Stars) - Fire Hammer Bro. - $7

Legend of Zelda: LttP - Green Shocker - $5

    Mega Man 2 - Jumping Mega Man - $8

Super Mario World - Monty Mole - $5

    Contra - Spread Gun - $5

    Contra - Jungle - $20

Legend of Zelda - Blue Potion - $4

Legend of Zelda BS - Flute - $5

    SMB 3 (All Stars) - Goomba in Kuribo's Shoe - $6

    Yeah, they're all handmade.

They are made from Perler Beads - otherwise known as fuse beads. You place them on a pegboard, one by one, and once the pattern is complete, you run an iron over it to fuse the beads together via melting. Check out the Game:ART blog - there's some way cool stuff in there, and while anyone could buy these and make stuff, it takes much patience, a bit of artistic skill, and time - something which many people don't want to invest.

I find it relaxing, but I don't have much time for it.

Heh.. not rude at all, and I've actually had that question a ton.

Personally, I have a few in my office on my little corkboard thing, and people always stop in my office and chat me up about old video games when they see 'em. It's great, because they're mostly people who haven't played games since the NES days - and they just go right back into their childhood, and it's nice. They're just neat conversation pieces (or conversation starters if you will), game room decorations, or whatever. I have some tossed around my living room as coasters also, and my friends always comment on new ones I've made.

Just something interesting and a bit artsy, that's all!

I should have put some sizes on there. Sorry!

Something like the Cucco or the Monty Mole is approx. 3x3 inches.

Something like the scene from Contra is approx. 5x7 inches.

Cucco has around 300 individual beads, give or take 20 or so. Contra Jungle scene has nearly 1,000 individual beads. Each bead is roughly a quarter of an inch wide once it's melted.

I will take some more detailed pictures for scale today.
