    Default Freedom Force pc

this game worth picking up? Also, is the gameplay like the X-Men Legends games? I'm trying to get somewhat back into pc games, with playing the warcraft 3 demo tonight, planning to get KOTOR, picking up a PSX-to-USB adapter and playing Red Alert 2 as well.

I need to try this out as well (have at least one of the games in the series). It's turn-based action, I believe. Looks like fun.

It's a really great game, easily one of the best super hero games out there.

If your intrested there is also a sequel- Freedom Force V.S. The Third Reich.

The storyline and presentation are fantastic, but I felt the gameplay fell pretty flat. It's a little similar to the X Men Legends games, but it's really closer to the PC Baldur's Gate game (in 3d. with destructable environments. and fucking super heroes). You can pause the action at any time to issue orders to your party , which is always a nice feature. The mission designs just felt really uninspired and dull, though.

It's dirt cheap anymore (as is the sequel), so it's worth a look-see to find out if it's your cup of tea. If you can put up with the first 4 or 5 missions then you're golden. The sequel is really short, so make sure you're not spending too much on it.

Personally, I'm glad I bought it, if for nothing else than for the awesome Jack Kirbyesque artwork and cutscenes.

Not as fast-paced as the X-Men Legends game, and with a definite bent on strategy vs. thumb-mashing.

Easily one of the best and most-polished PC games of the last few years. Lots of great characters that were memorable and fun to play; lots of tongue-in-cheek spoofs of "classic" comic book storytelling, so it's humorous, too.

Well worth picking up, esp. as I remember it being very reasonable last I checked ($10 or so).

FF vs the 3rd Reich is somewhat shorter, but also well-worth picking up. The real bummer for me was that they changed the voice-actor for the Alchemiss, which was like...stupid. The old voice actor was perfect for the part, and the new one sorta left me cold.

Great games; you should pick them up.

Managed to wind up with both of them fairly cheaply, I did. I started playing the first one a while back, but something distracted me and I stopped after the third mission.

It didn't help that I was stubbornly trying to get a perfect score on the second mission, which I'm guessing is impossible right at the start of the game. (Would someone care to inform me otherwise? I just don't see how you can get to the end without alerting the guards!)

I checked some faqs, near impossible to do both. I'm stuck on that mission myself now.

Yeah I got it. Love the art style and sounds, and the heros are all pretty cool, if a little corny at times.

Hmm, ok up to the "stage" where you're on the aircraft carrier, so how is it Minuteman is still getting the pts to upgrade, and the other 2 aren't?!

OK, first off: that level where you don't alert the guards isn't THAT impossible - I remember doing it. But it does take patience.

    Re: the points to upgrade:

First off, whomever you use in a mission gets more experience than the people you don't use. If you are using Minuteman in every single mission and the others in only 1/2 of them, he will level-up way faster.

The other thing is those teal canisters with experience in them. In FF1 there is a bug whereby you can get all four of your characters around the canister, pause the game, instruct them all to "get" the canister, and then unpause the game - all four will get it. This is a great thing for getting more characters powered-up.
