Anyone here know why XWA won't even install for XP or know a way around this?

Can someone move this to the Computing forum?

It should install even though the OS check fails...hmm...Originally Posted by Kaine23

edit - yep, demo works peachy-keen (then again, it doesn't have the installer program like the retail release). I'll ask around at work and see if anyone has a copy that I can play with.
Will do!Originally Posted by Kaine23

Because it makes no attempt to be great, it is therefore extremely great.

Yeah, it just won't install. Been searching around and others have said the same thing about it. Maybe something with XP?Originally Posted by roushimsx

I use XP and re-installed it the other month. Don't remember having any problems with it. XWA is the newest one, in glorious 3D-o-vision that requires a joystick, right?
Without any specific errors it will be difficult to troubleshoot. You might try the XWA Upgrade forums (http://www.xwaupgrade.com), and make sure you have the latest patched version from LucasArts (http://support.lucasarts.com/patches/alliance.htm).
Yeah, I'm trying the manual install idea from over there. I think they have a way to run Tie Fighter also I should check into.

I used the manual instal option and mine instaled fine, but my version is the X-wing collectors if that makes a difference,
I just can't play it due to the fact that I don't hae a flight stick still!
I still have to get a new gamepad myself. Manual install worked fine, just can't do the patch.Originally Posted by ghostangelofcky
